UFC flyweight kingpin Brandon Moreno met with the unified super middleweight boxing champion, Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez is without a doubt one of the biggest superstars to ever grace the squared ring. But the legendary Mexican boxer was more than impressed with what his compatriot has done in the world’s premier MMA organization.
“Congratulations,” said Alvarez to Moreno for the latter’s triumph at UFC 263 to capture UFC gold. ‘The Assassin Baby’ finished Deiveson Figueiredo in the rematch to become the no. 1 flyweight in the world. “Thank you, it’s crazy getting to meet you,” Moreno responded.

“I saw your story from when you started and you said, maybe I am not a champion tomorrow or the day after that or in a year but I’m going to be a champion and it’s cool what you did. Congratulations, perseverance. That’s why I got it tattoed here, perseverance is what’s important,” Alvarez added.

“People like him are inspiration for everyone. Even for me because look at his story and what he dreamed of and visualized and he did it being the UFC champion. If I’m not mistaken, he is the first from Mexico. So that’s inspiration and motivation for everyone that in this life anything can happen and I become a fan of that kind of person,” said Alvarez.
“Because at the end of the day we come from the same place and we are setting the example for the one’s coming up and to let them know that in this life anything is possible. I’m very happy and proud for what Brandon did and hopefully there are many more fighters like him,” he further added.
