According to Ice Cube, Mayweather’s popularity would have been even greater if he had possessed more power in his punches. According to the rapper, fans love to see a boxer who can deliver a devastating punch and leave opponents reeling. Mayweather’s defensive mastery and ability to avoid getting hit often led to decisions rather than spectacular knockouts.

Despite this, Ice Cube acknowledged Mayweather’s exceptional skills and dubbed him the best, emphasizing the impact a bit more pop on his punches could have had on his reputation.

He said, “I gotta say he is the best. The thing is, I think people would love Floyd if he had a little more pop on the punch. He can hit you, get you, pop you, drop you and back you up and do all those good stuff. People fault him for not… when he hit it, it hurt.”
