Tyson Fury is undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers in the world. His accolades and achievements are a testament to his success inside the squared circle. Moreover, UFC commentator-cum-podcast host Joe Rogan once claimed that Fury could very well be the toughest heavyweight boxer of all time after one of his greatest performances against Deontay Wilder.

‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Bronze Bomber’ have had one of the most engaging rivalries in boxing. They fought three times, however, it was the first fight that stood out the most. During a recent episode of the million-dollar podcast, ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, the host talked about the first fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury with guest, Terence Crawford. Rogan mentioned the time when ‘The Bronze Bomber’ dropped Tyson Fury to the canvas and started to celebrate as if it was the end of the fight. He said, “When he catches him with the right hand and the left hook as he’s going down, then Deontay goes like this [throat-slitting gesture]. And he thought it was over.”

However, much to Rogan’s surprise, Tyson Fury stood right back up. That was something that the 56-year-old never expected. Moreover, Fury even started to box better than Deontay Wilder after getting dropped to the canvas. Rogan added. “And this motherf***er [Tyson Fury] rises like the Undertaker… I was like, ‘There’s no way. There’s no way.’ Then he starts out-boxing him, like how?” Moreover, the JRE host believed that the performance showed how much heart ‘The Gypsy King’ had.

JRE host believes that Fury is the toughest heavyweight boxer of all time

Joe Rogan has no doubts that Tyson Fury is one tough boxer. He recalled how Deontay Wilder was hitting him with a barrage of strikes that sent shockwaves across the WBC champion’s body. However, he still absorbed all of those punches. “In the third, when he got rocked once so hard, you could watch the ripple, the shockwave go down his body and it was jiggling his fat,” Rogan further stated.

Seeing how many shots Tyson Fury took, Rogan stated that he does not believe there are many heavyweight boxers who could have taken the punches like ‘The Gypsy King’ did. “I don’t think there’s another person in the heavyweight division that would have ate that shot like Tyson did at all,” Joe Rogan added.
