Joe Rogan had made an appearance on a podcast hosted by comedian Andrew Schulz. The two were talking about a whole bunch of things when Rogan brought up some of Ngannou’s big hits. No, he wasn’t talking about any sort of music ‘The Predator’ dropped. Instead, he spoke about the time Ngannou dropped Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem.

At UFC 260, Francis Ngannou knocked out Miocic with a powerful punch, forcing the fighter to the mat. The French-Cameroonian was also responsible for knocking out Alistair Overeem at UFC 218. The infamous uppercut knocked out Overeem to the high heavens. Here’s what Rogan said about those KOs.

“Ngannou has the nuclear option on any person that lives. Any person that lives, if Ngannou…if he catches you with one of those ones he hit Rozenstruik with,” said Rogan. “Or that he knocked out Stipe with or the Alistair Overeem left hook…That Alistair Overeem one was one of the most disturbing punches I have ever seen a guy get hit with. Because he was off before, like he went to the ground. He got shut off immediately and his head went almost all the way back…His head went back while he was standing up.”

The punch has been immortalized in Joe Rogan’s mind as he’s talked about it multiple times before. So clearly, he believes that Ngannou can bring up his “nuclear option” to the fight against Tyson Fury. But will it be enough?

Tyson Fury is a fearsome opponent. This fight is so massive because it’s one of the UFC’s greatest former heavyweights versus perhaps the greatest heavyweight contemporary boxer. So it’s only natural for the stakes to be high.

While there are no titles on the line, the fight will go on their professional records. If Ngannou can beat Fury, and knock him out in the process, the bragging rights and the paycheck will be the biggest of his career so far.
