Jake Paul defeated Nate Diaz in their boxing match earlier this month. However, the MMA star lasted the full ten sanctioned rounds and took Paul all the way to the judges’ scorecards. Paul then offered Diaz a $10 million MMA fight in the PFL in lieu of a rematch, as a shot at redemption.
Diaz, for his part, has made his intentions of re-matching Paul clear- it has to happen in partnership with his own Real Fight, Inc. promotion. The Stockton native also revealed after the fight that he was not fully fit while going into the Paul fight. The former BMF contender has been open about his dislike for the former Disney star and spares no chance to take shots at him. And the American did just that in a recent post on his social media.

On his Instagram story, Nate Diaz posted a picture of his fight with Jake Paul and added a short caption to tell what he thought of the former Youtuber. The picture shows Paul clinching Diaz as the latter tries to break free, accompanied by a two-word caption that read “Scared bi*ch”.
Diaz has also repeatedly stated that he doesn’t think Paul can actually fight as he is only limited to boxing and cannot grapple at all. He even put Paul in a guillotine choke towards the end of their boxing match, and would jokingly suggest he won the fight because of that.
What stood out about the bout was how it went exactly as most fans predicted. Diaz’s endurance proved his winning skill as he tactfully depleted Paul over the course of the fight. What was more impressive was that the former UFC welterweight was not at 100% going into the fight, as he revealed later.

The two fought in a boxing match in Dallas, Texas, on August 5 this year. The 38-year-old struggled in the first round as Paul came out swinging and suffered a knockdown in the fifth round. But he was able to close the gap as the bout went on and by the end of the fight, Paul looked absolutely gassed. All three judges scored the fight in Paul’s favor and the final scorecards read 97-92, 98-91, 98-91.
In the interviews given after the fight, the UFC star also revealed that he had been injured during camp for the Paul fight, which prevented him from performing to the best of his abilities. “Things could have been better, and in camp, I hurt my arm a little bit,” he said.

Clearly, their fight has not resolved the bad blood between the two. A mixed martial arts rematch would be interesting to see and let Diaz emphatically avenge his loss. Further, if the fight happens in MMA, Diaz is at an unfair advantage considering his wealth of experience against tougher competition than a debutant like Paul. However, it remains to be seen if the Diaz-Paul saga will reach the unforgiving confines of an MMA cage.
