During his interview with the ‘MMA Junkie’, the Stockton native claimed that the UFC asked him to be one of the coaches for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, but that opportunity didn’t interest him a lot. Instead, Diaz declined that opportunity. He said, “I never wanted to do ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, though. I wasn’t interested in doing that.”
When it came to predicting who’d win between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor, he had some good things to say about ‘Iron’. Diaz said, “Chandler’s real tough and explosive and crazy young guy.” But Diaz knew his former rival and believes the Irishman will grab the victory. He added, “I think Conor is better than Chandler. But Chandler, you’re great too.”
The 38-year-old MMA veteran bumped into ‘Iron’ Chandler at UFC 285. He even shared a piece of advice with McGregor’s next opponent, asking him not to win because Diaz had some plans lined up with the Irishman in the future.
Diaz won’t mind a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor
Nate Diaz was also asked if he’d fight Conor McGregor for a third time if he decides to go back to the UFC. He replied positively. Diaz said, “I don’t think about it like that [wanting to fight McGregor the most]. But regardless of that, I would like to get the third fight with Conor.”
