Ngannou is being trained by the epic Erick Nicksick with none other than Iron Mike Tyson by his side. This clubbed up with his experience as a striker in the UFC might give him a certain edge in the fight. ‘The Predator’ is a giant of a fighter who can grapple around just as well as he can take opponents down with a left uppercut and you could ask Alistair Overeem about the latter. However, Ngannou once tore apart his MCL and damaged his ACL, parts of the knee that restrict certain movements to keep the knee in place. A sparring session on December 28, 2021, pushed him onto the surgical table but one never recovers from injuries like that easily.

“Well, you’re recovering from your knee surgery first of all, right?” asked Rogan as the two spoke about Ngannou’s boxing training on the JRE MMA show. “I can kick, I can wrestle,” noted Ngannou. “I mean, obviously, I have to be careful but I don’t have to worry about like, kick, wrestling. Just knees.”

Against Fury though, only his hands will be his weapons. So maybe his knee would not be such a big problem especially now since it’s recovered quite a bit.

“How is the knee now? Hundred percent?” as Rogan pushed further, Ngannou explained how far he could go in terms of fighting. “My knee’s probably 90%. It’s very important to take care of, to maintain the vehicle(his knee). Basically when you’re going to put it in a big crash like this . . . Because Tyson Fury is big, is a monster,” added the ex-reigning heavyweight champion.
