Anderson Silva seems to be planning to get on the last fight of his career. The former middleweight champion has been teasing his final fight for some time now. It all started when Terry Crews and Silva indulged in a banter against each other. Soon after, Crews challenged Silva to a fight which he agreed upon. However, he dropped the plan just moments after agreeing to fight.

Silva proclaimed that Crews was a good friend of his, which is why he dropped the fight. However, he assured that there will be an opponent for Crews, and it will be a mystery surprise. Just moments after Silva’s announcement, Chael Sonnen took to his social media to add a post where he said “Oh Anderson, yoohoo. It’s me again. See you June 15.”

Their fight is scheduled to happen on June 15 in Brazil, the Spaten Fight Night promotion announced Sunday and it will most probably be a boxing bout. This will mark their third outing. Anderson is 2-0 against Sonnen but both times ‘The American Gangster’ gave ‘Spider’ a run for his money. Now, that we are done with retired fighters, we got a special news as Charles Oliveira might be planning to face Colby Covington soon.

Charles Oliveira might jump divisions

Is the lightweight championship dream over for Charles Oliveira? The latest reports are that ‘Do Bronx’ is planning to fight Colby Covington in the welterweight division. Why, you ask? Well, we should thank Colby Covington for challenging the lightweight fighter for a fight. It all started when Oliveira stated that he might want to try his luck at the welterweight division and what followed was a direct challenge from Covington. It seems like the Brazilian is game to try and bottle ‘Chaos.’

While having a conversation with the media, Oliveira stated, “Man in reality it’s like I said, it’s sitting down and looking at legacy, history, values… When I woke up in the morning, thousands of people were sending me messages [to fight Covington]… I said ‘Diego, just sit down, talk, see what’s good, see what the UFC thinks about it… It’s not just what Charles thinks, it’s about what the UFC thinks about it.”

He further added, “[Colby] is a talkative guy, he’s a guy who talks a lot, so let’s see. Why not?… For sure [I would move up to 170 pounds]. If it makes sense, if it’s something good for me, why not?” Oliveira has accepted the challen͏ge͏, and all that ͏rem͏ains is͏ a͏n͏ ͏official͏͏ c͏onfirmatio͏n ͏from the UFC officials. However, t͏here’s another piece of new͏s͏ ͏͏for the ͏͏day͏ con͏͏cerni͏ng the͏ UFC of͏ficials, and ͏͏wh͏at’s that? It’s the ghost of the ͏pay structure, ͏and it seems lik͏e it’s ͏goin͏g ͏to haunt ͏U͏FC sup͏r͏emo Da͏n͏a White o͏nce again͏.

Why is it shameful for Dana White, you ask? The official expected purse for Jon Jones‘s fight against Stipe Miocic is not even a fraction of what ‘The Gypsy King’ made. According to the leakers, Jones will be making most of $15 million from the fight which is like 10% of what Fury made in his last fight. The pay structure regarding UFC fighters and boxers is a topic on which debates have been going on for years. The boxing star makes a massive paycheck in comparison to UFC stars but on the other hand, the average boxer makes less than $70000 a year while an average UFC fighter makes about $150,249 year.

Nonetheless, this gigantic difference between the payment of the two of the biggest stars of two of the biggest sports has raised eyebrows from the MMA community against Dana White. What are your thoughts on this? State your opinion in the comments below.
