Ryan Garcia reacts to Conor McGregor’s ‘lifetime’ ban jibe

Ryan Garcia won against Devin Haney on April 20. ‘King Ry’ was a heavy underdog against the boxing champ. However, Garcia shocked the world when he won against Haney via a majority decision. Initially, Conor McGregor appreciated Ryan Garcia’s win against Devin Haney while also saying that great things are waiting for him in the future. However, just days after his appreciation post, ‘Mystic Mac’ has turned against Garcia, as he called for a lifetime ban on the boxer.

Why you ask? Well, Ryan Garcia tested positive for using a banned substance considered a selective androgen receptor modulator, ostarine just a day before the fight. After the news came forward, McGregor took to his social media to add a statement against Garcia. “Cheated the weight and was juiced, lifetime ban. Sad to see, sad to say. Sad and a bit sick. Don’t come near me if I see you ever Ryan Garcia. I am actually disgusted.” wrote McGregor in a deleted.

He further mentioned that Sean O’Malley also tested positive for the same drug and claimed that he could fold both of them in a fight. McGregor’s words seem to have found some counter from both O’Malley and Garcia. Responding to McGregor, Garcia wrote “If I see Connor mcgregor. I’m going to break your weak a** ankle. You ran from being tested bc you were on Roids. Roadhouse or ROIDRAGE. FUDGE CONNOR CACA BRAIN.” He further added another tweet, where he challenged McGregor to a BKFC fight.

In addition to Garcia’s tweet, Sean O’Malley also added a response to McGregor’s challenge, “Send Jet for a quick spar,” wrote O’Malley. Nonetheless, McGregor has yet to say anything about these responses.

Alex Pereira reacts to Jon Jones’s words

Alex Pereira’s last title defense against Jamahal Hill ended in a successful bout for him. After the bout, Pereira took the mic to state that he would like to make a jump at the heavyweight division for his next bout. However, this claim by the light heavyweight champion was disregarded by his team and Pereira came forward to state that he has other plans for his future.

However, Jon Jones has now come forward to ask the fans for their opinion on his next fight. The heavyweight champion took to his social media handle to ask whether he should fight Tom Aspinall and Alex Pereira next. ‘Bones’ words seem to be taken into cognizance by the light heavyweight champion, as Pereira has come forward to respond to Jones.

“After my last fight I said I wanted to fight at heavyweight, but had no answer [from the UFC], so I kind of forgot it and my plans have changed. But there was this message from Jon Jones last night, so I don’t know if this might change [plans moving forward]. Becoming a three-division champion is very hard and not many people try it, but if I have that opportunity, I just want to bring joy to everyone and a better life for my family,” said Pereira in a conversation with MMAFighting.

It’s not clear whether they’re planning to fight or not, but for now, we know that there might be a clash between the fighters. Now that we know about their clash, let’s move forward to a new revolving around UFC 301.

William Gomis’ drastic weight cut

Weight cutting is one of the most dangerous things for the fighters. Fighters often tend to cut a reasonable amount of weight before their fight and this hampers their health in a big manner. UFC 301 witnessed such an instance when featherweight fighter William Gomis tried to make weight for his featherweight clash against Jean Silva. In the Friday weigh-ins, Gomis tried to cut weight to come around 145 lbs but to everyone’s surprise, he was weighing 3 lbs below the featherweight mark.

This shocked everyone, as it was unnatural for fighters to weigh below the limit. Nonetheless, suddenly Gomis started shaking, and he was assisted to walk back to the dressing room as his health suddenly deteriorated. After some time, the UFC officials announced that the match between Gomis and Silva would be canceled, citing Gomis’ ill health.
