Ever since Sean Strickland lost his championship gold in his maiden title defense against Dricus du Plessis, he seems to have been pushed down the pecking order. With the South African champion defending his title against 2-time former champion Israel Adesanya, ‘Tarzan’ only got to fight a fighter out of the top 5 in the middleweight rankings, Paulo Costa, whom he dispatched fairly comfortably. Now, he’s aiming to get that title, and after that Strickland’s willing to offer the title shot that Khamzat Chimaev’s been asking for.

Reminding Khamzat Chimaev about what happened in the sparring sessions years ago, Sean Strickland said, “I made him retire after covid… I’m fighting for the belt then he can get the smoke.” Now, Chimaev is yet to respond to this offer but it’s hard to picture a title fight between them because there are some credible contenders waiting for their chance at the gold as well. We’ll need to wait on how this situation shapes up in the coming days.

Michael Bisping claps back at “dipsh*t ” Jake Paul for jibing at Conor McGregor

What’s your perspective on:

Is Khamzat Chimaev the real deal, or is Sean Strickland right to call him out?

Have an interesting take?

Jake Paul, once again, convincingly defeated an MMA fighter in a boxing match. He’s 5-0 now and there was a real anticipation among some fans that maybe he’ll finally lose to Mike Perry, which of course, he didn’t. A confident Paul, who called out Alex Pereira for a boxing match, would go on X and rant on all his doubters, including MMA experts like Michael Bisping, who fired back at ‘El Gallo’ for calling Conor McGregor a “little leprechaun.”

Michael Bisping absolutely ripped into Jake Paul, reminding him that he was not ever anywhere near Conor McGregor’s level, who carried the sport of MMA on his shoulders for the better part of the last decade. Moreover, like many others, ‘The Count’ also wants to see Paul compete against a real professional boxer instead of MMA fighters, who he appears to bully with his size. Will Jake Paul respond? That’ll be interesting to see. Now, in our final piece of news for today’s roundup, we have a story about Alex Pereira.

The real reason behind Paul’s callout of Alex Pereira

Former Glory dual-weight and current UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, has come under Jake Paul’s radar. The man’s been making waves in the UFC, becoming one of its biggest draws. So who better to further ‘El Gallo’s record against MMA fighters in boxing than ‘Poatan’ Pereira? Well, that’s not exactly why Paul wants to fight the UFC 205 lbs king, because he wants to end the debate about what Michael Bisping and others claim about him being a ‘weight bully’.

“I want Alex Pereira… because people say everything about weight difference: 40, 40, whatever, Mike, I was 212 in the ring tonight… I want someone who when I f*** them up like I did tonight [against Mike Perry], there is no excuses,” said Jake Paul on his YouTube podcast. What do you think? Can Jake Paul beat Alex Pereira in a boxing match? However, it depends on what Dana White wants for his star and how long it could take for us to see them square off inside a squared circle.
