It took a dominant showing of 25 minutes for Cris Cyborg to etch her name in the PFL’s history when she became the inaugural Superfights champion. Her performance earned her the adulation of the MMA community, but what was more special to her was Jon Jones’s message. ‘Bones’ congratulated Cyborg on her win, while calling her an “OG” of the fight game.
Thank you Jon, you are the 🐐 and I appreciate this ❤️

“I’m incredibly proud of Cris Cyborg right now. OG showing how it’s done,” Jon Jones tweeted. Cris Cyborg was over the moon with this gesture from the UFC heavyweight champion, and just like Dana White, she picked him to be the greatest fighter of all time while also thanking him for the message of support. “Thank you Jon, you are the [goat emoji] and I appreciate this,” she responded.
Well, she wasn’t the only one to get a reaction from Jon Jones, because Francis Ngannou got one, too. After giving fans their money’s worth by knocking out Renan Ferreira in the first round, ‘The Predator’ received a congratulatory message of his own from ‘Bones’. Nevertheless, Jones didn’t fail to mention that the Cameroonian-French is definitely on his radar. Onto the next news, here’s a story involving Jake Paul and his demands for a Ngannou-Jones clash.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Jon Jones truly the GOAT, or is Francis Ngannou the real heavyweight king?

Jake Paul claims Jones vs. Miocic is great, but Francis Ngannou knocked him out
Jake Paul has been all over the internet following Francis Ngannou’s epic win. It didn’t much time for the YouTube star to demand that the UFC and Dana White come to some sort of agreement to make the big-time heavyweight clash between ‘The Predator’ and Jon Jones. Meanwhile, ‘Bones’ has his fight against Stipe Miocic coming up, which he claims to be the most important fight for his legacy, or is it? Paul weighed in on the current scenario of Jones’s upcoming fight, claiming that it’s a good matchup, but it may not do the heavyweight any good when it comes to his legacy.
I love Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
But don’t forget the last time Stipe fought he was KOd by Francis Ngannou.
So no matter who wins that fight, the top heavyweight is Francis
— Jake Paul (@jakepaul) October 19, 2024
Francis Ngannou’s final and Stipe Miocic’s last UFC fight saw the Cameroonian-French star avenging his earlier loss to the UFC’s resident firefighter. As such, beating the former 2-time heavyweight champion again may not give Jon Jones the best heavyweight status. “I love Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic,” Jake Paul tweeted. “But don’t forget the last time Stipe fought he was KOd by Francis Ngannou. So no matter who wins that fight, the top heavyweight is Francis.”
It seems like the biggest fight in MMA between these two heavyweights could very well happen given how people are yearning to witness it. Nevertheless, let’s move to the final story in this roundup edition, involving Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor allegedly promotes the use of PEDs
Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen successfully defended his title at the ‘Battle of the Giants’ PPV against Leon Edwards‘s brother, Fabian Edwards. However, that wasn’t why he made headlines recently. Eblen fired shots at Conor McGregor in a way that nobody saw it coming. He claims that ‘The Notorious’ encourages the use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) amongst retired fighters to make their return and fight past their prime. The 32-year-old revealed after Donald Cerrone announced his return to MMA. He claims McGregor playing a part in it as apparently and unsurprisingly, Eblen is not a big fan of PEDs.
Johnny Eblen isn’t a fan of Donald Cerrone announcing his comeback to MMA:
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to retire, take a bunch of steroids, and then come back and fight again. … [Conor McGregor] is influencing a lot of people to do it.” pic.twitter.com/BeAi6wo4ji

“I don’t think it’s a good idea to retire, take a bunch of steroids, and then come back and fight again. It’s just not a good look, man,” Johnny Eblen stated during the recent post-fight presser. “I think Conor paved the way. I think’s he’s influencing a lot of people to do it.” While Conor McGregor hasn’t responded to these claims, but he did respond to Eblen by mocking his fighting style after his win over Fabian Edwards. Could we see the Irishman clapping back at the Bellator champion? Well, we’ll have to wait and see.
