Conor McGregor reacts to Caleb Plant-Jermall Charlo altercation

Former IBF champion Caleb Plant and current WBC champion Jermall Charlo attended Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford’s weigh-in for their undisputed welterweight championship clash. However, In a video posted by Michael Benson on social media, both Plant and Charlo got into a scuffle backstage, with the former hitting the latter on the face. The WBC champion, surprisingly, did not choose to retaliate, and this prompted a reaction from Conor McGregor.

In a couple of deleted tweets, ‘The Notorious’ stated that he believed the fight was not over. They needed to settle their issues then and there. He said, “Get right back here this second. Sir, you’re going nowhere till we settle this dispute here and now.”

The Irishman also mentioned his disappointment with Charlo for choosing to remain quiet after getting hit in the face. He added, “Clean cracked and let’s walk him out? No. Nope. Nah. Not a f***in’ hope.”

Stephen Thompson is out of UFC 291

‘Wonderboy’ was scheduled to make his Octagon return at UFC 291 against Michel Pereira. However, things took a turn for the worse. Pereira missed weight by 3 lbs and the fight was called off after the UFC was done with their ceremonial weigh-ins. Furthermore, it marked the second time Michel Pereira missed weight for a UFC fight.

Following that incident, Stephen Thompson released a statement on social media and decided to not move ahead with this fight. He mentioned that he had a discussion with his team and claimed that it wouldn’t be a wise decision to fight the Brazilian, after he had missed weight. The fans will have to wait some more time before they get to see ‘Wonderboy’ back in action again.

Robert Whittaker claims Sean Strickland could be his next opponent

Sean Strickland recently got a call-out from Israel Adesanya for a championship fight after Dricus du Plessis pulled out of his proposed title fight due to an injury. However, the UFC had other plans. They did not want to go ahead with ‘The Last Stylebender’ taking on the 6th-ranked middleweight. Meanwhile, former champion Robert Whittaker indicated that Strickland could be his next opponent following his loss to ‘Stillknocks’ at UFC 290.

During a recent appearance on the ‘MMAArcade Podcast’, ‘The Reaper’ mentioned Strickland’s canceled bout against Adesanya. Keeping that in mind, he did not rule him out as the possible next opponent in the foreseeable future.

Whittaker said, “That [Adesanya vs. Strickland] doesn’t look to be happening anymore… I am not gonna rule him out of the discussion of the next fight.” As ‘Tarzan’ looks to continue his moment to get the championship gold, Whittaker needs a massive turnaround to get back to his winning ways.
