In a recent development of events, boxer Baffour Boateng, also known as Armz Korleone, has been banned for four years. On 17th November 2023, a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test showed a significant increase in the levels of synthetic testosterone in his system. His testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio came out to be 34:1, which exceeds the 4:1 ratio of VADA.
Despite being given the opportunity to have his B sample tested, Boateng refused. Timothy Wheaton reacted to the news on his X post and made comparisons with former UFC fighters. Let us find out what he had to say about the whole situation.

Fitness influencer and boxer Armz Korleone took on Malcolm Minikon for the second time in his career. It was the year 2023 when the fight happened and the 31-year-old managed to beat him again after previously beating him in 2022. However, what followed was disturbing scenes, as the rap artist and bodybuilder had to be stretchered out of the ring. Boateng could not stand on his feet and Derek Chisora tried his best to help him by pouring water on his head.
Only a few moments later, however, the 31-year-old fell on the ground and the medical staff were tending to him. Despite going through so much struggle, his second fight against Minikon has now been declared as a no-contest after his VADA test results have been revealed. Timothy Wheaton recently took to his X account to share his honest opinion on the whole.
He posed, “He tested 34-1. Just looking it up to compare: Alistair Overeem was 10-1, Chael Sonnen was 16-1. A normal person is 1-1 typically.” Alistair Overeem was banned in 2012 from the UFC when he was expected to challenge the then UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146. He was flagged for an elevated testosterone score that came out to be 10-1 which was well over the limit.

Talking about Sonnen, the former UFC fighter has had his share of problems with testing as well. In 2010, his ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone came out to be a staggering 16.9 to 1 ratio, which is way more than the acceptable levels of the Anti-Doping Agency. However, after announcing his retirement from the sport, the former UFC fighter finally opened up about his drug use.

Chael Sonnen opened up on how he was able to get away from testing
The use of performance-enhancing drugs has been very common in sports. Several UFC fighters in the past have used such drugs to get a slight edge from their opponents. However, some fighters are open to accepting their mistakes. One such fighter is 47-year-old Chael Sonnen. ‘The American Gangster’ during his time at the UFC was one of the most entertaining fighters around. However, towards the later stages of his career, he did have his share of problems with performance-enhancing drugs and was also banned from the UFC.
He suffered a 2-year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and failed multiple drug tests. But it seems ‘Uncle Sonnen’ did more than what he was caught for. During one of his appearances on ‘Steve-O’s Wild Ride!’ podcast, he admitted having used more PEDs for which he never got caught.

The 47-year-old said, “I don’t know if anybody’s failed more drug tests than me.” He then took the host and the fans by surprise by saying, “But the other side is I don’t know if anybody’s gotten away with more drugs than me. They [UFC] got me over seven substances. But I was on at least seventeen,” In today’s time athletes are far more cautious about what they put inside their body.
