Conor McGregor‘s UFC 303 presser wasn’t the only event that got canceled recently. Another highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson also seems to have been postponed from the initial date of July 20. But why? Well, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub analyzed this situation and claimed that this might have been ‘The Problem Child’s plan all along.

Mike Tyson’s out! The boxing legend had to pull out of the boxing match against Jake Paul because he suffered an illness while traveling. The fight’s not canceled yet, but postponed, but we don’t have any date as to when that would go down. But guess what? Brendan Schaub believes Jake Paul has something to do with this.

The Netflix deal is surely a big deal because many other sports are trying to get into this streaming platform. However, the fact that everything fell through has made Brendan Schaub claim that it’s a strange occurrence because no one with a sane mind would squander an opportunity like that.

During an episode of ‘The Fighter and the Kid’, Brendan Schaub would say, “Mike Tyson-Jake Paul is off… Do you not think it’s some weird world?” He even ideated a scenario where Jake Paul might have insisted Mike Tyson join him in this Netflix adventure because people have forgotten that ‘The Problem Child’ fought Nate Robinson on the undercard of ‘Iron’s fight against Roy Jones Jr.

“You know, Jake and Mike are friends, right? He fought on his first card. So, do you think they’re like, ‘Hey, we can sell this to Netflix? It’d be massive,'” Brendan Schaub. Now, in the wake of the fight’s cancelation, Jake Paul might have planned this out with Mike Tyson getting an 8-figure paycheck for him to exit the matchup only for Logan Paul to come in and fill that spot.

“Mike’s like, ‘I’m not fighting your young a**. That’s f***ing stupid. He’s [Paul] like, ‘No, no. It gets us in the door with Netflix, we’re gonna give you a, whatever, a flat fee of 10 million, and then a month before, you pull out, my brother comes in.’ Tyson still makes money… Do you think those guys would do that?”

While nothing’s for sure at this moment, Brendan Schaub’s co-host, Bryan Callen, also mentioned one thing from Mike Tyson’s end that created doubt in his mind about the Jake Paul matchup.

Tyson shared no sparring videos in preparation for Jake Paul

As the date for the fight inched closer, Mike Tyson shared a lot of training videos, where he seemed like he was going in that zone he used to be back when he was an active boxer. Through those videos, fans would predict the worst kind of fate for Jake Paul, believing that the YouTuber’s boxing endeavor could come to a screeching halt. However, Bryan Callen pointed out that training videos are one thing and sparring videos are another, and Tyson didn’t share any videos catering to the latter.

“I have seen zero sparring from Tyson, zero. That’s what you have to do okay, especially if you’ve been rusty and not interesting,” said Bryan Callen. While this assumption seems to be a possible occurrence, could the fact that Tyson suffered a medical emergency be the main reason why the fight fell through? Well, we don’t know anything for sure.
