Bare-knuckle boxing star Mike Perry wants it known that he is his own boss. The former UFC fighter, who spectacularly knocked out Thiago Alves in sixty seconds last week, has emerged as the face of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. After joining the BKFC and going on an undefeated run in the promotion against the likes of former UFC champions, Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, Perry has become its biggest superstar, akin to what Conor McGregor is to MMA.
And McGregor just became part-owner of the BKFC last week, holding a minority stake in America’s first bare-knuckle boxing promotion, with Triller being the majority stakeholder. The biggest star in MMA history will serve a largely ambassadorial role and help promote the David Feldman-led organization using his significant fan following and platform. And while ‘Platinum’ is glad to have the charismatic Irishman on board, he wants everyone to know that he, too, is a part-owner of the BKFC, in perhaps a subtle dig at McGregor, with whom he has a budding rivalry and who hopes to fight someday at the BKFC.
“It’s great to have the noise because no one markets quite like Conor. I mean even when he made the announcement, it was it was a flashy little video, but I want it to be known that I am my own boss, and I am also part owner of the BKFC and I’m in here doing work,” he said in a recent interview with ‘MMAFightingonSBN’s YouTube channel.

Conor McGregor is currently signed with the UFC, and Dana White is almost surely unlikely to allow his biggest star to fight at another fight promotion, even if it’s not a direct competitor to the UFC. However, Perry feels there is a very real window of time where a bare-knuckle boxing match between him and McGregor can go ahead.
Mike Perry sees opportunity as Conor McGregor’s UFC contract nears end
Mike Perry told the interviewer that a bare-knuckle bout between him and McGregor would be a “heavy magnitude” fight, given both men’s standings in their respective sports. In fact, ‘Platinum’ went as far as to say that he was “the American Conor McGregor.”

‘Platinum’ felt that “maybe a Conor fight, that could be a possibility, you know,” pointing out that McGregor had only two fights left on his UFC contract. And while he was sure that the Las Vegas-based promotion would look to re-sign him, the two could fight at the BKFC in the interim period before he signs a new contract.
That is, if McGregor doesn’t sign an extension before his current contract ends. What are your thoughts on a possible McGregor-Perry bare-knuckle bout? Let us know in the comments below.
