Many feared Anthony Joshua‘s boxing career was done when he lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk a couple of years ago. ‘AJ’ was comprehensively bested by the Ukrainian former undisputed cruiserweight champ over 24 rounds, and indeed did seem lost and cowered in interviews after those losses.
There was genuine speculation that Joshua had lost the spark and killer instinct he had in days of yore, which had catapulted him to become the unified heavyweight champ and earned him a reputation as a knockout artist. But Joshua has proven his critics wrong ever since.
Having utterly dominated his last three opponents and scored early stoppages against them, ‘AJ’ looks vicious and mean-spirited once again. He seems to be on a mission, a mission to regain his titles (most of which are currently held by Usyk, who added the WBC belt to his kitty in an undisputed bout last year).

And the next obstacle standing tall in Joshua’s way is Daniel Dubois. The latter, of course, has a legendary chin and holds the IBF title (vacated by Usyk last year), but has only lost twice- to Usyk, and fellow Brit Joe Joyce, who broke his eye socket, forcing Dubois to take a knee in the tent round four years ago.
But former UFC middleweight champ and UFC analyst Michael Bisping thinks that the 27-year-old will get a third blemish on his record in his clash with Joshua tonight. Giving his predictions for the fight which will be only the second proper boxing card to be streamed on UFC Fight Pass, Bisping felt that the resurgent ‘AJ’ will continue his devastating form and knockout Dubois about halfway through their Wembley Arena, London fight.

“It’s probably gonna be a spectacular show. We’re gonna see some nice violence and both men are certainly up for it. They’re both gigantic, they both got heavy hands. But I’ve got Anthony Joshua via knockout somewhere around the sixth round, I think. He’s going to walk straight through him but Dubois isn’t going to give up on himself. He’s not going to make it easy and he’ll make it to round six, so to speak, of this fight. Of course there’s going to be a star studded crowd there all the celebs come out when the heavyweight belt is on the line,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel. Not only will the card be significant because of the stars being there, but also because of what it means for the future of the entire division.
Winner of Anthony Joshua-Daniel Dubois next in line to fight for all the major titles

Is Bisping right about Dubois taking down Joshua, or is he underestimating AJ's power?

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis about two decades ago. And if Joshua defeats the Dubois at Wembley, he will have the best chance of facing the winner of the Usyk-Fury rematch sometime next year.

And that is why the stakes of the fight are so high. On the other hand, if Bisping’s prediction turns out to be wrong and Dubois does manage to beat Joshua, the IBF champ will have taken most of Joshua’s shine. Not to mention he would have taken ‘AJ’s place as the next in line for a shot at the winner of Usyk-Fury.
Joshua is clearly the favorite going into the fight. But this is heavyweight boxing, which is a sport in itself where anything can happen at any time. After all, ‘AJ’ and the entire boxing world were shocked by Andy Ruiz beating him in their first clash back in 2019. And Dubois certainly is not one to be cowered by anyone’s star power or other people’s predictions. What are your predictions for the Joshua-Dubois clash?
