Imagine this—the usually calm and humble soccer legend Lionel Messi involved in a bloodbath against a man inside the boxing ring fighting. Odd right? But this is the standing reality in the realm of boxing and soccer right now. When regular business tycoons have a dispute, they call in their assistants and lawyers to solve it, right? Not in this case involving YouTube star-turned-wrestler Logan Paul and soccer king Lionel Messi. This duo’s legal dispute over their energy drink brands was not on many people’s 2025 bingo cards.
You see, the issue ignited when the WWE star and co-founder of the energy drink Prime Hydration blamed Messi’s MAS+ beverage for mimicking Prime’s branding. In retribution, Leo’s lawyers decided to countersue Prime, declaring an alleged unfair competition from Paul’s company. Logan Paul was not happy about it, so he challenged the legend to a boxing match, which is right in his own domain. Messi’s trusted bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, came to the rescue, and the ex-Navy SEAL was ready to support Leo despite Logan Paul’s threats.
In a recent Instagram video, Cheuko said, “Listen, Logan I am doing this video because a lot of people stop me on the street they send me message. I get a lot of comments on Instagram about this fight so now the reverse is broken there is no way out. So let’s do the fight for the people. Let’s do it.” However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was ready with a comeback and said, “bro thought he cooked.”

The Inter Miami superstar’s energy drink had started to gain a lot of traction on the shelves in Britain, but it was plagued by a legal battle against Logan Paul’s Prime. The packaging of both drinks is pretty similar, and this led to a lawsuit from both parties. KSI launched Prime in 2022 with Paul, which became a sensation and secured sponsorships with Arsenal, the UFC, and Barcelona, Messi’s former club.
On the other hand, Leo’s drink was launched in 2024, which has some stark similarities to Prime’s packaging. Since the soccer Legend’s brand was launched later in 2024, Logan Paul assumed that Messi’s brand might have imitated his brand’s design.

So now Paul’s boxing challenge to Messi is being taken up by his trusted bodyguard, but the elder Paul brother seems unfazed by the skilled MMA fighter with sound taekwondo and boxing expertise. However, ‘The Maverick’ did backtrack on his challenge to Messi. So is he serious about this challenge?
Is Logan Paul having second thoughts on boxing against Lionel Messi?
While talking to his brother Jake Paul about combating Lionel Messi, the Cleveland native said, “Bro, people think I want to fight Messi because I made that video. Everyone’s like, ‘Of course, you want to fight someone retired and smaller than you. It was a f***ing joke.”

So Paul did fake his callout just to intimidate Messi and for some media attention, but the soccer legend’s bodyguard is not here to play around. On top of that, Messi’s bodyguard had previously addressed this callout as well. According to Happy Punch, he said, “Look, Lio doesn’t know who this guy is. So if he really wanna fight, he can fight against me, not against a soccer player.”
Messi’s bodyguard has given an ultimatum, and Paul has replied with a scathing tone. Will Cheuko send a counter reply? Will Paul accept Cheuko’s challenge or forfeit? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
