Conor McGregor vs. Jake Paul—who's the real 'little dweeb' in this feud?

Jake Paul has not taken kindly to Conor McGregor, calling him a “little dweeb” ahead of his July 20 boxing match against ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry. ‘The Problem Child’ blasted ‘The Notorious’, promising that he would beat up Perry, who fights for the BKFC, and ‘expose’ the whole organization.

‘Mac’, of course, holds equity in the bare-knuckle promotion, and had predicted Perry would easily beat Jake Paul, of whom he had a very low opinion. And Jake Paul has responded in kind, challenging McGregor to fight him after he’s done with Perry, but advised the Irishman to win a few fights and get his head right before they could ‘talk’ about a possible fight. But not before he took (totally unnecessary and unwarranted) shots at the other fighters on the BKFC roster as well, claiming none of them had any technical prowess when it came to boxing, likening them to mindless brawlers.

“First of all, he’s big up in the BKFC. But you’re gonna see what I do to their best fighter on Saturday night. I’m gonna embarrass their whole entire thing. This guy has no skill. Those are just brawler idiots who have no idea what the sweet science is,” Paul said to Perry’s chagrin ahead of their fight Saturday night.

“And Conor McGregor can say what he wants but he won’t fight me either. So once I knock out Mike Perry, Conor McGregor let’s run it. But you won’t do it. Because you know what’s gonna happen. You saw what I did to Nate Diaz, who you went toe to toe with. So Conor McGregor – lay off the coca**e! Get in the gym, and start winning fights and then maybe we can have a conversation,” Paul told reporters at the pre-fight press conference for his Perry fight.

‘The Problem Child’ and ‘The Notorious’ going back and forth is nothing new, of course. The bad blood between Paul, the pioneer of celebrity boxing, and McGregor, the biggest-ever superstar in the UFC, goes back nearly half a decade and has been going strong ever since. But what exactly did Conor McGregor say that instigated the latest chapter of the beef between them and prompted Jake Paul to go on his aforementioned rant?

Have an interesting take?

Conor McGregor took to the BKFC stage at a press conference to hype up the promotion’s upcoming BKFC 67 card in Spain. It was therefore natural for reporters to ask the bombastic Irishman his thoughts on the BKFC’s contender Mike Perry, fighting Jake Paul. And McGregor didn’t hold back, letting his lack of respect for ‘The Problem Child’ known, while also backing Perry.

“Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here,” McGregor who recently joined BKFC ownership said. ‘”The King of Violence,’ he titles himself. He’s had such a rise in the sport. Now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. And, we’re all rooting for him.”

Of course, Jake Paul seemingly took great exception to being called a ‘little dweeb’, and fired off a heated salvo, calling out the Irishman’s alleged substance abuse, lack of discipline, and horrible 1-3 record since 2018. And Paul did this in response to relatively mild and anodyne comments from ‘Mac’.

If the UFC superstar decides to respond, however, (as fans must be hoping since drama is always entertaining), the comments will neither be mild nor anodyne, as they never are coming from MMA’s best-ever trash talker (except perhaps Chael Sonnen).
