The combat sports community has witnessed great disappointment with the fallout of Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson, owing to the 57-year-old’s ulcer flare-up. Weeks after the scheduled fight was canceled, ‘The Problem Child’ targeted Mike Perry as his next opponent. Paul and the former UFC fighter are now set to face each other in the squared ring on the 20th of July. While Paul’s matchup with Tyson was greatly criticized by the fight fans, they accepted Paul vs. Perry as an exciting one. Without a doubt, the upcoming bout garnered reactions from the entire community. And one such reaction was extracted from Khamzat Chimaev’s teammate Darren Till.

Till and Chimaev share quite a strong friendship, strong enough for it to evolve into a brotherhood. There are instances when ‘Borz’ and ‘The Gorilla’ came forward to support each other. However, the UFC also provided Till with a nemesis. The Brit and Perry have shared a history of rivalry even though the two middleweights never actually landed against each other in the Octagon. But that didn’t stop Till from putting forth his verdict on Perry’s fight against Paul.

Right after the fight between Perry and Paul was confirmed, ‘The Gorilla’ took to X and predicted that the YouTuber-turned-boxer would rise victorious in the match. In a reply to a post on X that confirmed the bout, Till exposed the biggest name in the world of bare-knuckle fighting. He wrote, “Jake is going to beat Mike Perry. Mike is terrible. Good for blocking punches.”

The British mixed martial artist has been out of action ever since he stepped away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. But the heat that he had with ‘Platinum’ was persistent. Needless to say, the duo looked to land against each other under the banner of BKFC. The fight would have been a million-dollar offer for Till. However, the British fighter happened to turn it down.

But as the developments for Perry’s next fight began to rise, ‘The Gorilla’ couldn’t resist himself from reigniting the fire between him and the BKFC big gun. Siding with Paul, the former UFC middleweight contender has made it clear that the rivalry is still on.

Even though talks about the two fighters taking up the fight have been going on for a long time now, the fight is yet to materialize. Both of the parties have been pushing the fight. But one thing is clear. Till wants to settle the scores with Perry.

Former UFC contender has Mike Perry on his mind

In an interview, earlier in the year, ‘The Gorilla’ conversed with ‘Boxing Social’. Therein, the former UFC contender revealed what he planned for after leaving the premises of the Ultimate Fighting championship. However, he declared that he was still carrying the rivalry against Perry with him. Even though he turned down the BKFC fight against ‘Platinum’, Till had only one fight in his mind.

Till said, “To be totally honest with you, my mind’s only been set on one thing, on one person: the Mike Perry fight.” Without a doubt, the two fighters need to face off and settle the score with a fight. And Till knows it pretty well. He continued, “It’s a fight that’s been destined now for seven years, me and him. I’m really pushing for it. I don’t know what his team and that are doing, I don’t feel like they’re pushing for it as much.” With the fire kindling for more than 7 years, ‘The Gorilla’ has claimed that he would settle the score within the next couple of years. Until then, Perry needs to prove himself against Paul.
