In an interview with ‘Pub Talk’ in 2022, Ebanie Bridges responded to the comments made by the Dagestani MMA legend and defended the ring girls. She claimed to have been one before her fighting career started and loved that experience. Bridges said, “I was a ring girl. I love combat sports. I grew up with it, so for me to be at the fights, I loved it.” Furthermore, she also mentioned that she got paid more money than some fighters themselves. Bridges spoke about the different attire ring girls had to wear during her time compared to what ring girls wear now. “I’d be walking around in a G-string – they don’t do G-strings these days, but back in my heyday, that’s how we used to do it,” said the Australian boxer. Additionally, she did not like the comments made by Khabib Nurmagomedov and urged people not to take their jobs away from them.

Bridges believes that ring girls are an essential part of combat sports and she loved her time being one and getting paid to watch fights. She added, “Why are people who aren’t us trying to take our jobs away from us? We love it, I loved being a ring girl. I don’t think it’s useless. I loved being part of the entertainment, being paid to watch those fights.” Let us take a look at what the fans had to say.

  • The darkest times, really.
  • Useless? No. Disposable? Yes. They’re basically the UFC version of cheerleaders. If they were useless, neither the NFL or UFC would have them. It’s all part of the spectacle.
  • Useless? kind of. You don’t need a girl in small shorts to tell you what round is next, but I appreciate that they do it.
  • That’s the wrong mindset to have. If someone is getting paid more than me, that’s not a sign they should stop getting paid. It’s a sign my employer can pay me more.
  • she just proved his point
  • that’s some tito level answer
  • Khabib is 30-0 now.

A Reddit user mentioned that it is wrong for ring girls to earn more than the fighters. Another person claimed that Ebanie Bridges proved Nurmagomedov’s statement about ring girls. They also said that the response she gave is the type of response they expect from UFC legend Tito Ortiz.
