Logan Paul and his brother Jake Paul, have become prominent figures in the combat sports community over the past few years. Logan Paul initially started his career creating videos on the now-retired platform ‘Vine’. He has since transitioned into professional wrestling and boxing and even took on Bellator MMA fighter, Dillon Danis, in a boxing match.
Paul won the battle, but the intensity of the build-up between the two men marked the fight. Talks of lawsuits, a scuffle at a pre-fight event, and accusations of steroid use were thrown around by the camps. Jon Jones, UFC heavyweight champion and no stranger to intense rivalries between fighters took to social media to congratulate Logan Paul. And the rarely seen funny side of ‘Bones’ was on full display!

Jon Jones takes a dig at Dillon Danis while congratulating Logan Paul
Logan Paul made his last appearance in the boxing ring in 2021 against Floyd Mayweather. The bout was an exhibition match. Paul, who was significantly larger than Mayweather in the ring, put in a solid effort. However, the match highlighted why Mayweather is considered the GOAT of the sport. Shutting down Paul’s attempts at offense with ease, while still not going all out.
Dillon Danis however had never competed in professional boxing. The MMA fighter is known for his jiu-jitsu skills and for being a training partner to Conor McGregor. Prior to his fight with Paul, Danis held nothing back in trying to get under his opponent’s skin. Even involving his fiancé, Nina Agdal in the feud. He also claimed Logan Paul’s physique was not natural and was enhanced by using banned substances.
Jon Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion and former light-heavyweight champion, took to Instagram to congratulate Logan on his win. He shared a picture of Danis on the ground with Paul standing over him on his Instagram story. Jones captioned the post, “On behalf of the whole martial arts community, thank you. @loganpaul @jakepaul.”

The 6 round fight between the two men ended with Paul’s victory. But it wasn’t due to a knockout as Paul had claimed during the build-up to the fight. Danis was disqualified for attempting a guillotine choke on Paul in the last moments of the final round. The incident caused security to storm the ring. Danis then took a swipe at the security staff as well. The incident led to Danis’s loss via disqualification.
UFC legend weighs in on Jones vs Miocic at UFC 295
Jones, who is no stranger to intense rivalries, is gearing up for what could be a legacy-defining matchup for him. He is set to take on former 2-time UFC heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic on November 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The event is the highlight for UFC 295 and MMA fans are excited to see Miocic make his return to the Octagon after a long hiatus. He last fought against Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 where he suffered a brutal knockout loss in the 2 round at the hands of ‘The Predator’.

However, another UFC heavyweight legend, Cain Velasquez recently shared his thoughts on the matchup. In an interview with The Schmo, Velasquez stated, “But there is always that puncher’s chance. There’s always that ‘maybe’ chance, and that’s what I believe continues to bring interest into the fights.” Similarly, Velasquez acknowledges Stipe Miocic as one of the greatest heavyweights, and he acknowledges the numerous threats he poses to Jones.
