Oscar De La Hoya’s banter is the stuff of legends in the boxing world, and his new Clapback Thursday segment proves he hasn’t lost his touch. In this latest Instagram episode, the ‘Golden Boy’ unleashed a fiery rant—and even Joe Rogan wasn’t safe. Rogan, on his podcast, recently called out De La Hoya, suggesting he’s been going “off the rails” with his comments about Terence Crawford. But if Rogan thought his words would go unanswered, he clearly underestimated De La Hoya’s knack for a sharp rebuttal. In classic fashion, De La Hoya fired back, turning the tables on the UFC’s iconic commentator—and let’s just say, it might’ve hilariously backfired on Rogan.
While having a conversation with the Hollywood Director and Producer, Peter Berg, Joe Rogan brought up the topic of the back-and-forth between Terrance Crawford and Oscar De La Hoya. Supporting Crawford, the podcaster ascertained that De La Hoya is exaggerating things to astronomical levels. Well, Rogan’s words didn’t go unanswered as ‘The Golden Boy’ on his Clapback Thursday brutalized Rogan,“So, Joe Rogan dropped another episode of his podcast yesterday with guest Peter Berg, who is a big-time Hollywood director and producer. Did you two f—–g ask who I’m commenting on? Terence Crawford.”
Supporting his fighter, Vergil Ortiz, De La Hoya emphasized that Terrance Crawford’s rankings might be an exaggeration, but his words aren’t, “The rankings have him at number one at 154 pounds when he doesn’t even fight at that weight anymore. I’m commenting because my fighter, Vergil Ortiz, easily beat Ismael Madrimov last Saturday—much easier than Crawford did.”

He didn’t stop there, as the former boxer emphasized that, over the years, Joe Rogan has been on the decline while he has been climbing the ladder of success. Then, the former boxer showed a part of JRE where Berg complimented De La Hoya’s style of creating content but Rogan didn’t. Responding to this ‘The Golden Boy’ stated, “It must be in your contract to keep hating on me and not have any nice words about me. I mean, Peter complimented me on my career and some other things, and you bring up those things and fake abs.”

In the end, Oscar De La Hoya couldn’t help but call out Joe Rogan for being sour and entertaining everyone in the fight world but him and UFC President Dana White, who De La Hoya infamously has a contentious relationship. Taking note of this situation, Oscar De La Hoya proposed that Joe Rogan should invite him alongside the UFC head honcho on his podcast for a face-to-face, “Have me and your daddy Dana on your podcast together, you can moderate it so it will be two against one.”

And while there’s no love lost from Oscar De La Hoya’s side, you can tell that Joe Rogan isn’t a fan of ‘The Golden Boy’ either. Why? Well, there was a time when the podcaster called out the veteran boxer for his inauthentic physique.

When Joe Rogan called out Oscar De La Hoya for fake abs
Back in 2022, while having a conversation with the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad, Joe Rogan questioned the authenticity of Oscar De La Hoya’s abs. Making a serious note of the topic, Joe Rogan surmised that De La Hoya never really had abs in his boxing career days. However, after retiring, he walks around with a mid-section crafted by the Gods themselves.. This has raised some suspicion for Rogan as he believes that the former boxer is artificially enhancing his physique.

“Why has Oscar De La Hoya got fake abs? You seen that? Oscar De La Hoya has got some fake abs. Something’s going on, man. Oscar De La Hoya didn’t have abs throughout his boxing career. Look at him now, bro. What’s going on there? It’s either he’s got some fake abs or he’s going semi-glutide, one or the other. The thing is, his abs don’t match his chest or his arms. Look how defined his abs are, like they—even when he’s sitting there. It’s like the Liver King,” said Rogan.
Was Rogan’s analogy right? Perhaps. It’s no secret that retired athletes take performance enhancers to stay in shape. Look at Rogan himself, who once admitted to using TRT. What do you think of the feud between Joe Rogan and Oscar De La Hoya? State your thoughts in the comments below.
