Most UFC fans may agree that the noted UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, will do a great job as an analyst too. With an incomparable knowledge of multiple genres of martial arts, Rogan often indulges in deep discussions on various fighters and their bouts all over the world. Hence, there wasn’t a way in which he could have missed out on talking about the recently concluded Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury.
As usual, Rogan chose his insanely famous podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ to talk about this matter. The famous comedian put out the perks that each fighter would have over his opponent. Several UFC fans may accept that Rogan is often correct in his predictive analysis of fights. But, the way in which the Ngannou vs. Fury fight unwinded may have a large chunk of the combat sports community disagreeing with Rogan’s predictive analysis regarding this fight.

A short video on YouTube showcased the specific part of the ‘JRE’ episode where Rogan analyzed the merits of both Fury and Ngannou. Although he considered ‘The Predator’s’ absolutely vicious punching power, still Rogan didn’t think that Ngannou would be able to “outbox” ‘The Gyspsy King’.
The ‘JRE’ host stated, “I do not imagine a world where Francis Ngannou can outbox Tyson Fury. Fury is a master, his footwork, his jab, his understanding”. However, he also counted the merits that Ngannou possessed, saying, “I will say though, Francis Ngannou hits like a freight train”. But Rogan presented a rather negative face after posing a question at the end that asked, “But the question is will he be able to connect on the greatest heavyweight ever?”
Rogan’s face may compel several fans to think that he didn’t believe Ngannou could actually land a blow damaging enough on Fury. But the actual fight showcased a different story. Ngannou did indeed “connect” a brutal right hook to the temple of Fury that drove him to the canvas.
On the other hand, the undefeated boxer couldn’t do much, even with his unmatched “footwork, his jab” and “his understanding”. They didn’t prove enough to save the WBC heavyweight king from a knockdown in the third round of the match. Ngannou’s superb display also had Rogan appreciating him. But he also had a request. What do you think might be the reason behind this?
Is Joe Rogan demanding a rematch between the two to prove his prediction correct?
Most in the combat sports community know that martial arts spells life for Rogan. The noted comedian has been in the field since a pretty young age and continues training to date, even at 56. Nevertheless, it may be said that Ngannou’s prowess in the ring stunned the UFC color commentator. He posted an Instagram update praising Ngannou’s superb in-ring display on the night.

His caption also contained the words, “I hope they run it back” signifying that Rogan wanted to witness a rematch between the two. Well, there can be a plethora of reasons behind this. Most of the casual ones in the combat sports community may say that Rogan liked the bout pretty much and therefore wants to witness another scrap between the two.
But, the ones who are a bit deeper into fights might have a different perspective about Rogan’s wish. Combat sports fans have often witnessed lesser-skilled fighters getting the better of their decorated rivals. However, the better one often settles the scores with a comeback if he is provided with a rematch. It’s quite evident that Ngannou got Fury in trouble during their fight despite the latter being a lot more accomplished than the former.
