Jake Paul’s exploits in the boxing ring have been commendable. However, his match against Hasim Rahman Jr. would have been a great way for him to prove himself as a boxer. Unfortunately, the match was canceled because of weight cut issues on Rahman Jr’s part and Spotify podcaster, Joe Rogan, spoke about this.

Rogan discussed another reason for the boxing match being called off in episode #1851 of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ with guest Chris Williamson
Rogan said, “Most likely, that was canceled for numerous reasons that may have been one of them, but the allegations that I’m hearing are that they sold so few tickets, that it would be a real problem in terms of like, financially to even break even.”
“Because they, what Dana White that he had heard, they’d sold only a million dollars worth of tickets. If you want to turn the lights on in Madison Square Garden, it costs a half million dollars. You have to sell a lot of f**king tickets…”

“… if you want to make money on pay-per-view, there’s a threshold like, say up until like a 100,000 buys, depending on what the deal is, you might not make any money. And then after 100,000 buys, then you start making money.”
“And who the f**k wants to see that fight? Nobody wanted to see that fight. Except Jake Paul’s family and his friends and his fans.”
Joe Rogan talks about Jake Paul’s knockouts
Additionally, the UFC color commentator recognizes Paul as a legit boxer as someone who has serious skills. Rogan thought the 25-year-old needed either a ranked opponent or a popular one. After all, Paul is quite the star and another big name opposite him would make a huge fight.
Jake Paul has won most of his boxing matches through T/KO. His latest win has been over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. Hence, Joe Rogan thinks Paul is a deadly opponent to face in the ring.

Besides this, many of Paul’s opponents have pulled out of fights previously. As per Rogan, it is because the YouTube star-turned-boxer is good at boxing and his opponents run a risk of getting knocked out.
From years of experience analyzing MMA, he guaranteed ‘The Problem Child’ was indeed a big problem to face in the ring.
