Joe Rogan has yet again stood to support Mike Tyson. As the world began its speculations about the 57-year-old boxer getting weaker by the day, and losing his potency in the sport, Rogan shielded Tyson. He has once again declared how terrifying the fighter actually is. But with Tyson set to face the 28-year-old Jake Paul, concerns about the former heavyweight champs’s health have become palpable.
Recently, in a conversation with the famed MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ claimed that although he was doing good, his body was quite sore. Thereafter, on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, Sebastian Maniscalco talked about the fighter losing some of his potency due to his age. However, Rogan had different views.

In episode #2148 of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the podcaster declared that if the version of Tyson that defeated Marvis Frazier took on ‘The Problem Child’, the YouTuber-turned-boxer would not survive. “He’s dead! He’s not gonna make it,” claimed Rogan. Thereafter, Maniscalco revealed that since the 37 years after defeating Frasier, Tyson has lost quite a bit of his power. However, the JRE host wasn’t ready to accept it.
Recently, in a press conference for his fight against Paul, Tyson revealed some surprising facts about himself. In the press conference, Helwani asked the former champ about his thoughts on critics saying that Tyson was simply too old to be fighting someone like ‘The Problem Child’. “I’m doing great, but my body is s*** right now. I’m sore. Yeah, I’m really sore,” Tyson replied. Without a doubt, age has taken a toll on the fighter’s body. But Rogan claimed he still has what it takes to defeat Paul.

Rogan stated, “He hasn’t lost everything. If you see him hit those pads, he has not lost everything.” But when the guest quoted that with the passage of time, ‘Iron Mike’ has now become like a normal fighter, Rogan delivered his verdict. The 56-year-old UFC commentator claimed that Tyson was nothing short of terrifying. He said, “He’s still not normal. But he’s still like a professional heavyweight boxer! He’s still terrifying!”

Rogan has often hyped up Tyson. In a previous JRE episode, the respect and admiration he has for the former boxing champion led him to commend Paul for taking up a fight against ‘Iron Mike’, even though Tyson was 57 years old now. Nevertheless, the outcome remained the same, as per Rogan – “Jake Paul would not survive against Mike Tyson that beat Marvis Frazier.”

Furthermore, Rogan also claimed that the fight between the two would not be an exhibition, but a professional bout. However, the rules were a bit more lenient, owing to Tyson’s age. The rounds were made to last only 2 minutes, and the gloves would be a couple of ounces lower than the standard 16 Oz. There would be 8 rounds in total, with a 2-minute break after each round.
Without a doubt, the fight’s anticipation is palpable. Who do you think would win, Tyson or Paul? And do you agree with what Rogan had to say about Tyson’s age and power? Let us know in the comments down below.
