Ngannou dropped Fury with a left hook in the 3rd round. Fury managed to recover and get up off the floor before the 10 count was complete. The rest of the fight saw Ngannou dominate the clinch and the center of the ring. But despite landing the harder shots, Fury was declared the winner via a split decision. A result that didn’t sit well with Joe Rogan.

In the recent JRE episode no. 2056, Rogan sat down with magician, David Blaine. The conversation touched upon the Fury vs. Ngannou fight where Rogan revealed that he believes Fury was given extra time to recover. While examining the video of the knockdown, Rogan pointed out, “So look at the count, 12345, he’s up, 678, so he made it up to the count of 10, and its 22 seconds before they re-engage.

Rogan further pointed out that Fury remained down for about 22 seconds before re-engaging, suggesting he received additional recovery time. Rogan believed that Ngannou won the fight and considered it an “extraordinary achievement in combat sports history,” given that Ngannou had zero boxing experience and was facing one of the greatest boxers ever, Tyson Fury. He also suggested that “When it comes to damage, I looked at it, I watched it 3 times, and in my mind, he won the fight.”

Rogan’s comments reflect the sentiments of a lot of fans around the world. And the podcast host has also slammed the judges for this fight!

Rogan believes the judges who scored the Ngannou vs. Fury decision should face consequences

Joe Rogan, the UFC color commentator, commended Francis Ngannou’s performance in his boxing match against Tyson Fury. The bout ended in a close split decision loss, with one judge scoring it in favor of Ngannou, another for Fury, and one with a wide margin for Fury.

Rogan, along with many others, believed Ngannou should have won. In another episode of the JRE with Elon Musk, Rogan was furious with the judging for the fight. He stated, “ He won on one judge’s scorecard, and the other judge, who should go to jail, had it 96-93 for Tyson Fury, which is f****** outrageous.”
