Fighters often ca͏l͏l out their potential opponents͏ for a clash, and such callouts typic͏ally stem from prolonge͏d banter͏ between them. However, sometimes, some callo͏uts just ͏make no sense at all. This was the case at ͏UFC St.͏ Louis when ͏Joaquin Buckley stepped into ͏t͏he Octagon to fight against Nursu͏l͏ton Ruziboev. Buckley dominated Ruziboev inside the Octagon as he secured the victory by way of a unanimous decision. However, Buckley seems to have called out the wrong opponent this time.

After winning the UFC St. Louis co-main event, Buckley took the mic and issued a callout for the returning Conor McGregor. It was a bizarre incident as ‘New Mansa’ and Conor McGregor have never engaged in any banter. The young fighter emphasized that McGregor should stop calling out smaller fighters such as Ryan Garcia and Sean O’Malley and fight against a true welterweight like him.

“Who do I get next huh? He has a fight already booked up, but there’s only one name you should call out if you’re on this mic, a powerful name. That name is Conor McGregor. I want you! You fight at welterweight! Come at me, bro. You said you built your weight up but you bully Sean O’Malley and Ryan Garcia. Come at me. Come and bully me,” challenged Buckley!

So why did Buckley call out McGregor again? Well, the answer only lies with him or maybe it’s because he is fighting in the welterweight division against Michael Chandler on UFC 303. Nonetheless, Buckley’s random callout was not taken lightly by the MMA enthusiasts as they called the young fighter baseless.

The MMA community is not thrilled by ͏Joaquin Buckley’s callout of Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor, Ryan Garcia, and Sean O’Malley have been having a tri-way beef since it was alleged that Garcia took peds just before his fight against Devin Haney before his dominant performance and victory against the former champ. McGregor pulled his support for Garcia after hearing the news and called out the boxer. He even attacked Sean O’Malley for using the same peds ahead of his fight earlier. Since then they have been calling each other out and Buckley had no part in this tri-way banter, his random callout was weird for the MMA community.

Starting off, a fan added that the callout didn’t even make any sense as he should have called out someone from his own division

The random callout was funny as there is almost no beef between Conor McGregor and Buckley. A fan stated that the young fighter ruined his moment completely.

Well, smees like he certainly did ruin his moment and more fans are just stating the obvious.

It must be noted that the welterweight division has some of the best fighters on the UFC roster and Buckley calling out McGregor who has yet to even rank in the division was an eyesore to fans.

Last but not least, Shavkat Rakhmonov is one of the best welterweights in the division who is yet to be defeated in his MMA career. A fan pointed out that Buckley should have called him out instead of McGregor.
