“I’m OK with fighting my brother (Logan Paul) because I wouldn’t have to be the one dealing with losing,” Jake Paul stated last Tuesday on the All The Smoke fight show. ” Just a day later, ‘The Problem Child’ set social media on fire by posting a promotional image teasing a fight between the two brothers, captioned: “The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27.” Fans immediately speculated about a blockbuster sibling showdown, but according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, the hype was short-lived.

The so-called fight turned out to be a reality series rather than an actual boxing match—though neither the Paul brothers nor their representatives have officially confirmed this twist. Despite the disappointment, criticism against Jake Paul continues to grow. Many fans argue that he strategically avoids truly dangerous opponents, choosing to fight aging veterans like Tyron Woodley, Mike Tyson, Mike Perry, and Anderson Silva rather than prime competition. His detractors claim that his career is built more on spectacle than legitimate boxing prowess.

Yet, as the old saying goes, “There is no bad publicity.” No matter the controversy, Jake Paul’s fights always generate massive attention and financial success, earning him the label of a “fake boxers” among some critics. However, the narrative around ‘The Problem Child’s boxing credentials took a turn when former UFC champion and analyst Daniel Cormier weighed in on his YouTube channel. “They say Jake Paul’s not a real boxer,” Cormier remarked. “Well, Jake Paul is a real boxer because everything he has touched up to this point has worked. It worked against Tyron Woodley, it worked against Anderson Silva, and it worked because of him. Because, if you put Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva in a boxing match, it doesn’t work.”

While Jake Paul isn’t set to face Logan Paul this time, consideration was given to a showdown between the brothers at one point in 2023. Before ultimately securing a fight with Tommy Fury, ‘The Problem Child’ and his manager, Nakisa Bidarian, explored the possibility of an in-ring battle between the siblings. However, the fight never came to fruition. Despite their close relationship, the Paul brothers have always shared a competitive rivalry, shaped by their parallel rise from YouTube stardom.

Jake Paul comes clean About jealousy toward elder Logan Paul

Jake Paul and Logan Paul have both reached the pinnacle of their careers in sports and entertainment, but the ongoing debate of who is the bigger star continues to capture attention. Recently, Barak Bess, host of All the Smoke Fight podcast, posed the question: “Young kids in the church, they used to say that Logan Paul was the bigger star. Is that the case? Because the way you talk, like you both were big or you were bigger, who was it?”

‘The Problem Child’ responded by reflecting on their early YouTube journey, hinting at a touch of jealousy: “The first video we did that went viral, he gained like 5,000 followers, and I gained like 3,000 followers, and it’s always been that ratio, you know, that 3-to-5 ratio, all the way up until recently.”

The dynamic has clearly shifted. Jake Paul now holds the largest social media following, surpassing his older brother ‘The Maverick’. While Logan Paul’s boxing career has seen less momentum, with just one professional match and an exhibition boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather, Jake Paul has built a reputation for taking on big names in boxing and MMA, including Anderson Silva, Mike Tyson, Nate Diaz, and others. What do you think about Daniel Cormier’s assertion? Do you agree that ‘The Problem Child’ is a “real boxer” and not a “fake boxer“? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
