Jake Paul is riding high on his sixth-round TKO victory over the former UFC star Mike Perry in a cruiserweight bout. The famed YouTuber, however, has no plans of resting as he has his eyes set on another MMA superstar now. While Paul will be headlining one of the most anticipated fights of the year against Mike Tyson on November 15, he also issued a challenge to the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira.
In a candid interaction after his fight with Perry, Paul spoke about his next challenge and also revealing his weight while he fought ‘Platinum’. Conor McGregor is having a beef with Perry and fired him from BKFC, while also insulting Jake Paul, and the latter has no plans on fighting ‘The Notorious’. He dismissed McGregor and has eyes on Pereira.

On his podcast ‘BS W/ Jake Paul’, he was asked whether he would like to answer McGregor’s jibes inside the boxing ring. He said, “I want a tougher challenge than McGregor. Fu** McGregor. I want Alex Pereira, I want the heavyweight champ. People talk about the weight difference, 40 40 whatever. Mike, I was 212 in the ring tonight, so a 10-pound difference is common in boxing, but Alex Pereira rehydrates to 240. So I want someone who, when I fu** them up like I did tonight, there are no excuses.”
He mentioned why he wanted to fight Pereira and not ‘The Notorious.’ Paul explained, “Alex Pereira 6’4″, 240 lbs, kickboxing world champion. Two-division champion, in UFC; when I beat him what the fu**ing they say. And people are like ‘Oh yeah whatever,’ write me off, keep me writing me off. That is what you guys have always done in every single facet of my life since I was fu** 8.”
‘The Problem Child’ faced insults from McGregor as well on X after winning the BKFC match. McGregor insinuated that he had taken PEDs to enhance his physique. Meanwhile during the weigh ins for the bout, there was a scuffle and Perry was shoved by Jake Paul. On top of that he accused Dana White of not letting him play his game properly. Paul has fought four MMA fighters ; Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Ben Askren — and won against them all.
During the weigh ins ‘The Problem Child’ weighed 200lbs and that is the maximum amount that is allowed in a cruiserweight bout. On the other hand, Perry was 196.6 lbs. Perry might have been inhumanly tough and remained firm on his stance even after eating the punches, Jake Paul got the upper hand with his speed, size and ringcraft.

Since Paul can go up to 200lbs he is targeting the former middleweight champ and present light heavyweight star ‘Poatan’. Pereira even answered the reply through a facetime call with the 27 year old YouTuber/boxer. He agreed to the match and as Pereira stands at 205 lbs with Paul at 200, the fight might not be so far fetched. He even explained why Pereira callout was serious.

Many fans think that this callout might be a marketing gimmick by the boxer. This is because there is a slim chance of Pereira fighting Paul since he is signed under UFC and Dana White might not allow it since he does not really like Paul.
The former Disney star was still keen on the matchup because he wanted someone who would be similar to his height and weight. Since Pereira is 6’4” and Paul is 6’1”, the duo have similar structures and weights. On top of that Pereira agreed to the bout and apparently said that Dana White would allow him into BKFC.

Paul described his reasons and said, “I want Alex Pereira, he said he wants to box, I’m down. He’s the king of the UFC right now I want a real MMA challenge… I believe it would be my greatest challenge yet and everybody thinks that he would kill me and I love upsetting people, I love proving people wrong… So Alex Pereira, we got on FaceTime I asked him if he could get out of his UFC contract, and if he can let’s run it.”
