Is Jake Paul the real disruptor in combat sports, or just a loudmouth seeking attention?

Conor McGregor and Jake Paul do not like each other. At all. The latest clear evidence of this came after the former UFC champ took to Twitter and nuked ‘The Problem Child’ after the latter’s spectacular victory over Mike Perry last night. In his signature bombastic manner, the Irishman made it a point to call Jake Paul a dr*g cheat, and wanting to fight “60year old Mike Tyson fresh off an in flight medical emergency,” albeit in significantly ruder terms. The fraught relationship between the two combat sports stars has also made some feel like it may be heading to a possible future fight. However, Jake Paul doesn’t think the fight will happen, mainly because of the UFC and Dana White.

Speaking to MMA journalist extraordinaire ‘The Schmo’, Jake Paul made it clear that he would indeed be very interested in fighting Conor McGregor. However, ‘The Problem Child’ immediately pointed out that the Irishman didn’t seem very serious about fighting at the moment. Paul complained that while McGregor was out partying, active on social media, and living the good life on his yacht, he hadn’t fought for the past three years and was on a horrible run of form even before this long period of inactivity.

Notably, McGregor was all set to make a comeback to the octagon at UFC 303 last month after a hiatus of over three years, but a toe injury resulted in him canceling his bout against Michael Chandler. Even if ‘Mac’ managed to rectify this and get back to winning ways, Paul felt that the main obstacle between him and a McGregor fight was UFC CEO Dana White, as ‘Mac’ was still under contract with the Las Vegas-based promotion.

“With Conor McGregor, I don’t really care to chat about… I do [want to face McGregor] but that’s what I’m saying, he’s on Twitter he’s on his yacht, but he’s not in the ring, winning. So he could say whatever he wants online but at the end of the day he’s not his own boss. He answers to Daddy Dana and he can’t get out of his contract. I don’t believe he would ever fight me,” Paul said.

McGregor, however, is not the only UFC superstar the Ohio native has in his cross-hairs.

‘The Problem Child’ explains why Alex Pereira’s call-out is serious

Immediately after knocking out Mike Perry in the sixth round, Jake Paul called out UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira for a boxing match. Many feel that this is a mere marketing ploy from ‘The Problem Child’ since there is no way Pereira will be able to fight Paul. Not only is ‘Poatan’ signed to the UFC, but Dana White doesn’t like Jake Paul and will almost definitely not allow one of his fighters to cross over and fight the celebrity boxer.

However, Paul explained that since Pereira had floated a possible foray into boxing recently, he wanted to give the UFC champ a good opponent to start with. The former Disney star also saw the Brazilian as a worthy challenge and someone he would be the underdog going up against, since ‘Poatan’ is the same size as the former ‘Vine’ star.

“I want Alex Pereira, he said he wants to box, I’m down. He’s the king of the UFC right now I want a real MMA challenge… I believe it would be my greatest challenge yet and everybody thinks that he would kill me and I love upsetting people, I love proving people wrong… So Alex Pereira, we got on FaceTime I asked him if he could get out of his UFC contract, and if he can let’s run it,” he said.
