In the latest case of a former mixed martial artist going to boxing to get paid, Darren Till is set to face Tommy Fury in a boxing match in January 2025. Fury, of course, is the younger brother of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and is Jake Paul’s arch-rival. After all, Tommy is the only person to ever slay ‘The Problem Child’ in a boxing bout.
There have been demands for a rematch since their fateful clash early last year, but this hasn’t materialized. However, Paul and Tommy have been going back and forth on social media since their fight, knocking each other down a peg since then. A clear example of this came as ‘The Problem Child’ trashed Tommy’s choice to fight Till.
“MMA/UFC career fact check:
Silva > Woodley > Diaz > Askren > Perry > Till (got spanked by Tyron),” Paul tweeted.

Anderson Silva, of course, is one of the greatest ever mixed martial artists, and the most illustrious opponent Jake Paul has ever defeated in the ring. In addition, ‘The Problem Child’ put all the other MMA stars he has faced (namely Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, and Mike Perry) above Till in his list.

Of course, Till also lost to Woodley back in 2018 in their UFC 228 welterweight title clash, which Paul felt proved that he has beaten a better caliber of fighter than Tommy is set to face. However, Till looks like the perfect opponent for Tommy at their kick-off press conference, as he absolutely stole the show.
Darren Till savages Tommy Fury at press conference
Darren Till and Tommy Fury kicked off their fight in spectacular fashion at a press conference a couple of days ago. In one of the most entertaining press events in a long time, Till was masterful on the mic. Tommy, of course, was accompanied by his father, John, who always comes up with the most bombastic and politically incorrect things on the face of the earth.

But even he was no match for Till’s inherently amusing Liverpool drawl and trash talk. The former UFC star promised, right off the gate, that he would kick Tommy in the face if he was losing their boxing match. Of course, that would be very much against the rules in a boxing match and would lead to instant disqualification, and Till perhaps not getting paid.
But Till claims he doesn’t care. He told Tommy at the press conference that he wasn’t concerned about money or winning or anything else, really. The only thing he wanted to do was to beat Tommy up. “I’m an MMA fighter, so if I want to kick you or elbow you in the face, I will, and no one can do anything about it,” he said. What do you think about Jake Paul’s tweet trashing Darren Till?
