Tommy Fury doesn’t seem like he’s done with crossover boxing matches as he’s gearing up for another one under the Misfits Boxing’s banner, a promotion owned by his former rival and YouTube sensation, KSI. Fans are speculating about why Fury would choose to dip his hands in a gimmick fight once again despite being a professional boxer, to which veteran MMA figures Josh Thomson and John McCarthy seem to believe it’s all because of the win over Jake Paul.
‘TNT’ Fury may be up for a good fight as it’s Liverpool vs. Manchester at Misfits & DAZN: X Series 20 when he steps inside the ring with former UFC title challenger, Darren Till. During a recent edition of the ‘Weighing In’ podcast, UFC veteran Josh Thomson made a bold claim about Tyson Fury‘s younger brother’s advent into crossover boxing. To put it simply, he believes that Tommy has been carrying on with his schtick ever since he became the first person to defeat Jake Paul. Of course, many argued that he should have taken up a ‘real’ boxer, instead, but ‘El Gallo’s demise was something that a lot of fans were yearning for.
“You know what’s funny, man, is that Tommy Fury’s living off the Jake Paul win, and he’s gonna continue to make fights like this,” said Josh Thomson, who found his co-host John McCarthy backing his claim while adding a few additional factors that have come to play for Tommy Fury. Obviously, the Jake Paul win gave him a massive social media buzz, but the fact that he’s a celebrity who appeared on television and the added bonus of having a former heavyweight boxing champion as his brother has helped the 25-year-old have a firm grip on his path.

“Tommy Fury is living off of three things. He’s living off of the fact that he beat Jake Paul, he’s living off of the fact that he is kind of like a reality star in the UK. He’s good-looking, right? All that stuff and his brother is ‘The Gypsy King,'” John McCarthy added. “[If] you got those three things going, that’s all he needs. And then he just picks up these fights, every now and then… gets a win and he walks away for a while.”
Being from the UK, beating KSI in a boxing match has also helped him make his base in his country as well, and this time too, the cards are stacked against Darren Till because the fight will be taking place in his hometown of Manchester. And maybe he comes out as the winner because with almost two months out, the former UFC star doesn’t appear to have started his training just yet.

Darren Till is not in fighting shape for the January clash against Tommy Fury
A lot of drama ensued at the recent Misfits Boxing presser when Darren Till and the Fury family had to be separated by security guards as they almost came to blows. Tensions are certainly rising as ‘The Gorilla’ claims to use MMA moves inside the boxing ring if he feels necessary. It seems like he might have to do just that because, prior to the press conference, Till appeared in a photo shoot for the fight when he was seen shadowboxing. But what worried fans on social media was that he looked like he hadn’t been in the gym for months.
No wonder Darren Till looked big, but it wasn’t the muscles. Fans straight away gave their verdict about a possible early stoppage coming up in January in favor of Tommy Fury, while some optimistic fans expressed interest in finding out how this scrap pans out. We have seen how most MMA fighters have failed to replicate the same success they had in the UFC in boxing, as we wait to see if Till becomes the first person to defeat Tommy Fury, much like the latter did to Jake Paul.
