Even without a fresh commitment to compete in the UFC Octagon, Conor McGregor appears to have shifted his focus to an initiative that could result in a multimillion-dollar payout. Even if some are still skeptical about the terms of his alleged next fight against Logan Paul, the Irishman set out to confirm allegations that he had a $250 million offer to fight the influencer-turned-WWE superstar in a boxing ring in India. So, is the UFC getting a cut from the revenue?
Well, the answer has been provided by none other than Brendan Schaub. On the Thiccc Boy YouTube channel, the former UFC fighter revealed that the UFC has negotiated a similar contract with the Irishman like the one they had during his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Speaking on the UFC’s involvement, he said, “They have to be. The Conor McGregor business—he ain’t doing anything without the UFC. Cool, take my money. It’s the exact same deal, and they would never do this for anybody else. It’s the exact same deal they did with Showtime when Conor fought Floyd.”
Schaub further revealed that the UFC believes Conor McGregor fighting Logan Paul is “good business” for them and a perfect win-win situation for the Dana White-led promotion. So, they have this huge fight on the platter, where they’re going to get paid while not having to do all the heavy lifting. It’s a massive payday in the end, and they would be getting approximately 20% out of it. “We (UFC) get whatever it is, 20%, and then it just adds value to you. And then you still have to fight for us. Do your thing, daddy. That’s what’s going on. It’s brilliant by the UFC.”

Last Sunday, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion took to his official X account to, once again, indicate that he would be facing Logan Paul. And, as a bonus, he would receive an extremely lucrative amount as payment. It is worth remembering that in his first boxing experience against legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, ‘The Notorious’ pocketed around 85 million dollars (30 of which was guaranteed), according to ‘Forbes.’ So, if what Schaub claimed on YouTube is correct, then Dana White is in for some major money. But, is the fight actually taking place? Well, not according to Chael Sonnen.
UFC legend rules out Conor McGregor-Logan Paul boxing match
Unsurprisingly, rumors about the hypothetical fight between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul have become one of the biggest behind-the-scenes topics of discussion in the combat sports world in recent weeks. Many people, such as former UFC fighter and commentator Chael Sonnen, have called out the information as ‘fake news.’ The MMA pundit shared his belief that the Irishman invented it all to actually stay in the spotlight, as he has not fought since 2021.

On his YouTube channel, Sonnen stated, “What a scam—the whole thing is flawed… First off, it’s not Saudi Arabia; it’s India—for some Indian billionaire who wants to bring tourism to the country [when] India is the most populated country in the world, like it is just fake.” He further said, “But let me tell you one thing that a rich guy hates: if you are a really rich guy, it actually pains them and keeps them up at night to not have their fame—a guy that rich wants his credit for it.”
The UFC legend further claimed that there is no way a billionaire would be cutting a check for $250 million when the going rate of the market is $8 million. This was a reference to the money offered to Jon Jones to go one-on-one against Francis Ngannou. So, it seems like all the buzz is because of a fabricated plot spun by the Irishman. But what do you believe? Is there going to be a fight between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul? Let us know in the comments.
