The tides have turned for Jake Paul, a man once dismissed as a “joke” in the boxing world. Fresh off his highly publicized bout against Mike Tyson, the 29-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer now finds himself being courted by one of the sport’s biggest names—Oleksandr Usyk. However, in a surprising twist, the Ukrainian juggernaut isn’t interested in a boxing match. Instead, the heavyweight champion is intrigued by the idea of facing Paul in an MMA fight, a development that has fans buzzing with excitement.

Sergey Lapin, the director of Usyk’s team, recently revealed that a fight with Paul is under consideration, not just as a spectacle but as a lucrative business move. Looking at the numbers, it’s easy to see why! Reports suggest that Jake Paul made double what Mike Tyson earned in their Netflix-streamed boxing match, pocketing an estimated $40 million, while ‘Iron’ Mike walked away with $20 million. If Usyk were to step into the cage with Paul, the financial upside could be just as staggering.

“Dubois is our priority because he has the belt,” Oleksandr Usyk’s team told OLBG. “We’ll see what other opportunities open up for him. It might be great to step into the cage with Jake Paul under MMA rules. it would be interesting if there is money to be made from it.”

After defeating Tyson Fury in their rematch to retain his WBC, WBO, and WBF titles, Usyk’s journey is far from over. The 38-year-old Ukrainian had his sights set on adding the IBF title to his collection, with a planned fight against Daniel Dubois. However, a curveball was thrown earlier this month when the WBO ordered the champ to face mandatory challenger Joseph Parker next. But as mentioned before, ‘Team Usyk’ is still eyeing that undisputed title bout against the Englishman. But aside from his boxing legacy, Usyk and his team seem open to the financial appeal of a showdown with Paul.

Well, fans had some interesting reactions to share, as most of them believe that this fight could prove to be detrimental to Paul’s fighting career. Here’s what they had to say!

Fans claim that Oleksandr Usyk will beat obliterate Jake Paul

For the first time, fans seem to be intrigued about one of Jake Paul’s fights. Well, from the perspective of legit competition! While a couple of fans stated, “This could actually be interesting (Usyk knocks him out R1),” and, “Usyk by manslaughter,” on Instagram, backing the Ukrainian to win, one fan substantiated the reason for picking Usyk to win. The fan in question claims that despite Jake Paul’s high-school wrestling background, the heavyweight champion’s alleged judo experience could weigh heavily on Paul. Maybe that’s the reason why Usyk wants an MMA fight. “Usyk has a Judo background, he would murder Jake.”

What’s your perspective on:

Could Jake Paul survive an MMA fight against Usyk, or is he biting off more than he can chew?

Similarly, another fan picked Usyk to win, but he predicted the Ukrainian dominate Jake Paul both, on the feet and on the ground. “Usyk out strikes and out grapples him.” For a long time, Paul’s opponents stood pretty much no chance, apart from Tommy Fury, as the ball was most in his court. But with Usyk’s interest in taking on the YouTube star, fans are starting to theorize that the boxing champ could be setting Paul up. “It’s a trap, Paul…RUN,” an Instagram user stated in that regard.

Well, fans are pretty sure that Jake Paul will make the decision that turns out to be in his favor, which is not accepting the proposal from Oleksandr Usyk. With one fan claiming, “Jake runs away from real fights he wouldn’t dare do this no way.” Another fan expressed his excitement, “I say yes just to see Usyk beat the s–t out of him.” They just want to witness Paul lose dramatically. Well, what would you prefer?

Given that fighting Jake Paul has turned out to be a lucrative option, there’s no doubt that the 29-year-old will have opponents lined up for him. But things may not get any bigger than Oleksandr Usyk since he’s the biggest fish in the boxing world. Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
