In a moment of speculative brilliance, Joe Rogan conjured a hypothetical scenario, pitting Tyson Fury and Jon Jones against each other. The UFC commentator boldly declared that the WBC heavyweight champion would stand no chance against ‘Jonny Bones’ if locked together in a room.

Little did Rogan know that his provocative dialogue would set off a chain of events, fuelling intense speculations of a Fury vs. Jones showdown. Offers started pouring in, with even Dana White chiming in, eagerly pushing to turn the speculation into a tangible reality. Yet, much to the disappointment of fans worldwide, ‘The Gypsy King’ ultimately declined the opportunity. Now, the British boxer is hitting back at Joe Rogan for initiating this trail of speculation without any solid foundation.

Tyson Fury blames Joe Rogan for igniting a baseless comparison

During a Q&A session at the renowned Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA Gym in Phuket, Thailand, the 34-year-old boxing sensation seized the opportunity to address the ongoing saga surrounding a potential clash with Jon Jones. This time, however, his focus shifted from his previous lashing out at Joe Rogan to squarely blaming the 55-year-old podcaster for igniting an unwarranted dialogue out of thin air.

Fury pointedly stated, “It was actually Joe Rogan, little sh*tbag, who was saying… just out of the blue, there was no talk of me or Jon even fighting. Jon’s a great guy. Probably the GOAT in MMA. And he said, ‘Oh, if Tyson Fury goes in a room with Jon Jones, he’s going to get absolutely smashed to bits.'”

His frustration apparent, Fury continued, “Like, [if] someone goes in the room with me and it’s no holds barred, you’re going to have to kill me to stop me.”

As the discussion delved into the origins of this convoluted situation, Fury shed light on a previous offer he had extended to the reigning UFC heavyweight champion.

‘The Gypsy King’ made a “real money” offer to Jon Jones

Refusing to step foot inside the cage, Tyson Fury recalled a daring alternative he proposed to ‘Jonny Bones’ in order to settle the debate and reap some financial gains.

Speaking on the matter, ‘The Gypsy King’ adamantly declared, “There was never talk of me saying I was going to go in a cage with Jon Jones…” 

However, he was all up for Jones getting into the boxing ring and facing each other on their feet. As of now, no significant updates have emerged regarding the possibility of this much-anticipated clash. However, one thing remains certain – it is never entirely off the cards. And with so much discussion going on, anything is possible.
