BJJ specialist Dillon Danis‘s fighting career is almost non-existent owing to his MMA inactivity since 2019. This led the Bellator brass to release him in 2023, prompting Conor McGregor‘s former grappling coach to announce his retirement from combat sports later the same year. However, the 31-year-old found his way back into fighting, but in boxing, but even that’s looking uncertain after the speculations regarding his fight against YouTube star KSI.

The KSI vs Dillon Danis boxing match, which was scheduled to take place under the Misfits Boxing banner has witnessed its initial date getting scrapped back in 2023. Now again, the fight initially scheduled for March 29th later this month has been canceled with just over a week to go for the matchup at Misfits X DAZN: X Series 21. KSI reveals his issue ahead of the Dillon Danis showdown

When the fight was canceled back in 2023, it was Dillon Danis who got the strife from the internet for pulling out since he didn’t have a team to train with. KSI and his promotion even temporarily banned the former Bellator fighter from his promotion until recently, when the fight was re-booked. However, the 31-year-old social media star appears to have fallen victim to an undisclosed illness, forcing him to pull out on this occasion.

“Hey everyone, I’m gonna try to make this quick. Me versus Danis is just not going to happen March 29th, man,” KSI announced in a video on social media. “I’ve tried my hardest but my body has legit just given up. I’m currently in bed taking antibiotics just trying to recover.”

The YouTuber ever claimed to have been medicating himself with ibuprofen every day,” while also claiming that he’s been in this situation for the last three weeks. He also claimed to have been unable to promote his fights via his platform due to the aforementioned illness. Meanwhile, Dillon Danis was having none of it, and he lashed out with a response to KSI as well. Here’s what he had to say.

Dillon Danis reacts to KSI’s withdrawal

Given how heated the beef between Dillon Danis and KSI has been, although they showed a bit of their softer side during the face-to-face interview, KSI must have expected to be on the receiving end of some digs from Conor McGregor’s friend. Well, this was the perfect opportunity for Danis to return the trash-talk he received when he pulled out, and so he did. However, it was brief.

While taking a jab at KSI’s illness, Dillon Danis wrote, “hahahahahahahahaha pu–y [KSI],” on X. He’d even take a dig at how KSI looked very healthy during the recent Sidemen Charity match, which was nearly a c0uple of weeks ago, contradicting the YouTuber’s claim regarding his illness. “Played in a full charity soccer match 2 weeks ago but has been “sick for 3 weeks”

While expressing his concerns for all the fighters on the card, Dillon Danis challenged KSI’s business partner, Logan Paul, to step up for another round. “I feel bad for every fighter on the card and the fans who bought tickets. Logan Paul, step up for your boyfriend who pulled out with the sniffles, and let’s save the show, and everyone’s time and money,” Danis added.
