Mike Perry wants to fight Conor McGregor and Jon Jones in bare-knuckle boxing. ‘Platinum’, who has been on a dream undefeated run in the BKFC, after an underwhelming stint at the UFC, is by far and away the most popular star in all of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. And the American had a face-off with McGregor (who became part-owner of the promotion last week) at BKFC 41 following his second-round victory over former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Perry spoke about the possibility of a BKFC fight between the former UFC champion and himself in a recent interview.

“I think Conor, it’s hard to say that nothing won’t end well for Conor. And the thing about me in bare knuckle boxing is, you know, it’s always ending well for me as well, so when you get two guys in the ring like that, I mean, you’re talking a heavy magnitude fight here. You know I used to say things like ‘man I’m the American Conor McGregor,'” he said.

But, McGregor is not the only UFC superstar Perry is looking to fight, as he revealed that he has called out, among others, MMA GOAT contender Jon Jones in an upcoming episode of his podcast. “Recently on my podcast, I called out lots of people, man. I called out, just to name a couple, Rampage Jackson, I called out Jon Jones, I called out Jean-Claude Van Damme… because I’m taking off over here… I’m 6-0 and I need a challenge, I need a real boxer over here or someone I want to beat up,” Perry added. But why is Perry calling out everybody under the sun to fight him?

Perry and BKFC need another big name for him to fight

Along with McGregor and Jones, Perry called out an eclectic bunch of people. This includes former UFC light heavyweight champion Quentin ‘Rampage’ Jackson, who outweighs ‘Platinum’, who is a middleweight, by at least about thirty pounds and was as feared knockout artist while fighting other 205-pounders.

In addition, the former mixed martial artist called out Hollywood action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme, who was a real martial artist before he turned to the silver screen, and will almost definitely not accept the call-out. And the reason for this is clear: the BKFC has no star on its roster yet worthy of facing ‘Platinum’ and generating hype. In fact, all of Perry’s opponents have been former UFC fighters. With the exception of Michael ‘Venom’ Page, who was a former Bellator fighter and joined the UFC after being beaten by Perry at BKFC 27 two years ago.

Which means that Perry needs another recognizable name to face him at the BKFC. Because a fight against a no-name BKFC fighter will neither help him professionally nor do the numbers that the promotion expects of its superstar and minority part-owner. And Perry wants to do everything he can for that not to happen.
