Henry Cejudo recently made a very divisive statement regarding one of boxing’s greatest exports. He posted a video on his YouTube channel, claiming that boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is not as big as someone like Manny Pacquiao in the sport. ‘Triple C’ believes ‘PacMan’ had a more vibrant career as a boxer than the undefeated legend.
The former UFC double champion didn’t get the result that he’d hoped for on his return to the Octagon at UFC 288. He lost to Aljamain Sterling via a split decision, failing to capture the bantamweight title for a second time. However, he still has more to offer in the UFC.

‘Triple C’ claims that people can call Mayweather the best boxer of his generation. In spite of that, his accolades cannot compare to someone like Manny Pacquiao. The former UFC champion believes that Pacquiao has proved himself in more weight classes than Mayweather.
Cejudo said, “Floyd Mayweather doesn’t have the accolades or the weight classes that a man like Manny Pacquiao has done or won. Eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao.”
Henry Cejudo stated that ‘PacMan’ has more championship gold in his possession than Floyd Mayweather. Moreover, if he had the opportunity to choose ‘Money’s 50-o record and Pacquiao’s 8-division championship wins, he’d easily pick the Filipino legend. “If you wanna give me 50-o or become an eight-division champ like Manny, I would pick Manny Pacquiao any day of that week,” said Cejudo.
Cejudo respects people who take risks
Henry Cejudo claims that Floyd Mayweather already knew that he was comfortable fighting in the same weight category for the majority of his career. He didn’t want to take such a risk that could put his undefeated record in jeopardy. However, when it comes to Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino legend never settled for just one division. He ran through more divisions than most boxers do in their entire career.
Cejudo states that the only fighters who are remembered by the people forever are the one who takes risks. It includes fighting opponents during the peak of their careers. “The person that takes more chances and takes more risks will be remembered than the guy who never really took a risk or the guy that never really fought the people in their actual prime,” said the former UFC champion.

Henry Cejudo’s claims can be compared to his dream of becoming UFC’s first-ever three-division champion. Having earned an Olympic Gold, ‘Triple C’ aims to create history in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.
