Francis Ngannou made a gigantic wave when he left the UFC while he was still the heavyweight champion. The ripples of his exit are still very much alive as pros and fans discuss the future of the Cameroonian. Since Ngannou left the promotion as the heavyweight champion, he is one of the most sought-after fighters on the planet. His future is rife with possibilities, with multiple MMA promotions interested in signing him. However, ‘The Predator’ has explicitly expressed his interest in boxing the world’s best heavyweights like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Now, former UFC champion Henry Cejudo has come forward to give his two cents on Ngannou’s chances in boxing against world-class heavyweights like Fury.
Henry Cejudo on Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury
In a recent clip on his YouTube channel, Triple C sat down to discuss Francis Ngannou’s exit from the UFC and his future prospects. While breaking down the subject, the 35-year-old also discussed Ngannou potentially boxing the likes of Tyson Fury.

He said, “His chances of winning in boxing are very slim unless they’re unified rules and the gloves are that much smaller.” Cejudo acknowledged the MMA heavyweight’s power but also pointed out a limiting factor in boxing-“Francis Ngannou has heavy hands but that ten-ounce gloves is gonna take a lot of that power away from him.”
He also mentioned how agile boxers like Tyson Fury could give Ngannou problems on top of those presented with ten-ounce gloves. However, there is one condition that the Olympic gold medalist thought would work in Ngannou’s favor.
“I would give Francis Ngannou a chance if the gloves were smaller. If there were literally UFC gloves like ‘alright guys, you guys go out there and fight’, I would almost bet the house with Francis,” Cejudo said.

Although Cejudo gave due credit to Ngannou’s power, he warned him against letting it get to his head. Triple C maintained that boxing was not Ngannou’s forte and he could very much get in trouble there.
“But the simple fact is that if it does go to boxing, Francis is in trouble. I mean there’s a stoppage in them like he just can’t, you just can’t go against the heavyweight champion of the world and think because you have knockout power, that you’re gonna knock him out… the probabilities of that happening are very slim.”
Cejudo’s analysis should be helpful to those that are contemplating Ngannou’s next move. Where do you see the former UFC champion going next? And do you agree with Cejudo’s takes?
