One cannot discount or deny everything that Jon Jones has accomplished in the Octagon. Hailed as one of the greatest fighters on the planet, Jones has an undefeated streak in the UFC, barring his DQ.

Jon Jones drew first blood by picking the beef with the WBC champion. Naturally, a Twitter war broke out between the two rather swiftly. In a recent interview with American comedian Andrew Schulz on his YouTube channel, Adesanya divulged what advice he offered to Tyson Fury about facing Jones.

I mean I saw Tyson and I said look – you should.. I think just learn how to sprawl, you’d be alright.” said the Middleweight champ. Schulz realizing why Adesanya gave him that piece of advice, agreed with the UFC star.

Talking about Jon Jones’ legacy, his takedown dexterity, and Fury, Adesanya continued, “But again, it’s Jon Jones. And also that’s Tyson Fury. He doesn’t know how to sprawl and he doesn’t know anything about jiu-jitsu and he was like ‘Listen man you ain’t f*****g getting me in a cage’ or whatever he’s.. You know what he said.

Although the Stylebender wasn’t explicit in siding with Jones it wasn’t difficult to decipher that he too, was inclining towards the natural advantage that Jones would have over Fury, if the two were to engage in battle. “It’s real life. Its real life shit. It’s like you have the understand the reality of what’s actually happening.“, said Adesanya laying the foundation for the revelation he made next.

Boxing is different from fighting. I mean from like actual fighting, you know what I mean?” explained the 33-year-old kickboxer about why boxing isn’t as all-rounded as MMA in terms of combat. “If you wanna be the greatest fighter in the world, you have to be able to fight other styles.“, he added.
