Alex Pereira shocked the world when he finished Israel Adesanya and won the middleweight title at MSG last November. Now, ‘Poatan’ is getting ready to repeat the feat at UFC 287. The Brazilian powerhouse will face Adesanya in one of the most highly anticipated rematches in UFC history. With just 4 fights in the UFC Pereira has established himself as a destructive force, earning commendations from many. The latest on that list is the undefeated boxing sensation, Ryan Garcia.
Garcia recently appeared on the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast hosted by influencer boxer Logan Paul. The former WBC interim lightweight champion is one of the show’s recurring guests and discussed a plethora of subjects with Paul. The 24-year-old discussed his upcoming fight against Gervonta Davis, and a potential Jake Paul vs KSI fight, among other things.
During their hour-long chat, ‘King’ Ryan also gave his thoughts on the upcoming UFC bout between Adesanya and Pereira. The 23-0 star’s admiration for Pereira and his power was evident in his words.

Ryan Garcia wants no smoke from Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira has had a grand total of four fights in the UFC. He won three of those by finishing his opponents. In the fourth, he became the champion. The first and only two-weight world champion in Glory Kickboxing, Pereira’s power, is truly a difference maker. He was decisively losing the fight to Adesanya until he landed a shot and led to the finish.
Admiring Pereira’s power, Garcia said, “You know what’s crazy, though? I’ve never seen somebody throw a hook like me, but Pereira does throw a hook like me. He throws it where… you don’t use your legs too much. He just crack! That was crazy. I mean that guy, he’s scary. I don’t think I would even want to be near this man.”
He further added, “He’s just a destroyer… He fights like a terminator. He’s weird bro. Dude is… he’s something else, bro. He’s something else.”
