Nate Diaz explained during the interview that his lungs are kept in shape by doing marathons and triathlons. The Stockton native excitedly shared his upcoming race schedule, revealing that he was participating in a race for the next two weeks. “I’ve got a race this weekend, and another one lined up for the following weekend.”

Further, he revealed that he had missed out on the renowned Alcatraz race, a feat his brother Nick Diaz has conquered. The reason for this miss-out was his fight schedule. “Every time he’s (Nick Diaz) done Alcatraz I was about two weeks out from a fight so I always missed that race.”

He said, “It’s the scariest thing ever, I hate those, I hate ocean swims too all the racers love that sh*t. I don’t know if they like the thrill of it but every time we’d be on the beach getting ready to go in the morning my brother’s all pumped up and I’m just sitting there like you m*therf*cker I’m only doing this because of you and now I’m gonna get eaten by a shark.”

This also goes to show the relationship that the two brothers share. An iconic sibling pair in combat sports, Nick and Nate Diaz still enjoy the fanfare and popularity they did in their heyday.
