Hours Before Gervonta Davis Clash, Mystic Ryan Garcia ‘Promises’ to Recreate Iconic Conor McGregor Moment

From dropping some of the best trash talk to dropping some of the best fighters, ‘The Mac’ has cemented his legacy in the sport. He has also inspired many fans and fighters who try to emulate his success and even his persona.

McGregor has set the benchmark for comparison on several levels in combat sports. One of those benchmarks was recently evident as undefeated boxing sensation Ryan Garcia likened his upcoming bout against Gervota Davis to a legendary Conor McGregor moment.

Garcia and Davis have been at each other’s throats for a long time now. The pair will finally duke it out this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. As he waits to conquer ‘Tank’ Davis, ‘King’ Ryan had a Conor McGregor comparison for his upcoming bout against his rival.

According to Ryan Garcia, his fight against Gervonta Davis will be similar to the historic clash between Conor McGregor ad Jose Aldo. The 24-year-old seems confident in the outcome of the fight and promised to finish it fast.

He told Showtime, “It’s like when Conor McGregor was gonna face Jose Aldo, you just know it. You knew it was coming and now it’s here. And now it’s gonna end before a blink of an eye, I promise you that.”

The McGregor-Aldo fight at UFC 194 was a defining one for McGregor and the UFC. The Irishman defeated the Brazilian after only 13 seconds on the clock to unify the UFC featherweight title. What made the win impressive was that Aldo had been undefeated for over a decade.

McGregor had constantly and confidently reiterated that he would finish Aldo. The pre-fight locker room footage showed ‘The Notorious’ drilling the same punch that finished the former champion. At UFC 194, McGregor realized his longtime dream as everything he visualized fell into place perfectly.

Now, Ryan Garcia is aiming to replicate the same against Gervonta Davis. However, will he have the same success that ‘Mystic Mac’ had? Can he land his signature left hook and switch Davis off early in the fight?
