Sean O’Malley has established himself as a credible fighter in the UFC. He revealed that he wants to follow a similar path that Conor McGregor went through and is aiming to achieve those feats within the next five years. In addition to those plans, ‘Suga’ also wants to get his hands dirty inside the boxing squared circle.

Famous comedian Andrew Schulz recently dropped yet another episode of his highly acclaimed podcast, ‘Flagrant’, featuring the bantamweight star. O’Malley outlined the plans he has for his professional fighting career.

Sean O’Malley wants to fight Gervonta Davis after becoming the UFC double champion

‘Suga’ claimed to be in love with what Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather achieved a few years ago. They shattered a lot of records in one of the biggest combat sports spectacles ever. He witnessed every bit of the boxing match, from the press conferences to the eventual fight. O’Malley said, “When Conor fought Floyd, I was f***ing all about it.” He added, “I watched every time they did a press conference. I loved it.”

Sean O’Malley wishes to be in that position to fight someone of the Mayweather caliber, which he believes is Gervonta Davis. He previously took a jibe at the undefeated lightweight boxer, claiming that his ability to do good PPV numbers will show his influence in the boxing scene. O’Malley even vowed to break Davis’ undefeated streak. But he understands that to fight someone like ‘Tank’, he needs to be winning fights and perhaps become a double champion in the UFC.

“I always wanted to be a part of something like that and me vs Gervonta, if I keep winning,” said O’Malley. He added, “I got to be the champ, potentially the double champ, and he’s got to be undefeated and be great in his sport for the next five years.”

‘Suga’ will fight Aljamain Sterling for the title

Aljamain Sterling defeated a returning Henry Cejudo at UFC 288. Although the decision was deemed to be controversial, ‘Funkmaster’ faced off against his next opponent, Sean O’Malley. In a heated confrontation, UFC president Dana White and color commentator Joe Rogan had to step in to calm things down. However, the bantamweight stars kept exchanging verbal jibes at each other.

Dana White appeared on the UFC 288 post-fight pressers and mentioned that it may not have been a good idea to let the bantamweight stars get in each other’s faces. But he confirmed O’Malley’s status as Sterling’s next opponent. The UFC president also revealed that the fight will most likely take place during the summer.
