Joe Rogan is all set to witness a super fight, and no, we are not referring to UFC Fight Night 250. Instead, he’s excited to see Terence Crawford’s next bout. The American boxer and 147-pound champion’s team confirmed that they had already signed an agreement to meet Mexico’s three-division super middleweight champion, Canelo ‘Saul’ Alvarez.
According to his team members, the fight will take place on September 13. Speaking about it on the latest edition of his Joe Rogan Experience with stand-up comic Brian Simpson, the UFC commentator couldn’t help but fangirl over Crawford’s mastery of the sport while clearing the air about a major allegation made on his fight against Errol Spence Jr. back in 2023. After Crawford’s dominant win over Spence, some people claimed that Errol Spence’s defense was weakened by the lingering effects of a horrific car accident he suffered a few years ago.
However, the JRE host countered that argument by claiming that Crawford is just so exceptional that he would’ve defeated Spence regardless of any past injuries. Joe Rogan said, “They tried to say that Errol’s defense was damaged because of what Crawford did to him, because he was damaged from the car accident. I’m like, maybe—or maybe Crawford would have done that three years ago. I think he’s that good. He’s just so skillful; he’s so slick. And he’s also the best guy in the sport at switch-hitting. He’ll go from Southpaw to Orthodox and be just as good and trip you up.”

Joe Rogan further added, “You know, he knows so much about boxing, about where to be and what’s coming.” Well, it seems like Rogan has become a real fan of the boxer. That is why he is all geared up to see him fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. However, not everyone is rooting for the American world champion.

David Benavidez goes against Joe Rogan’s pick
Mexican-American boxer David Benavidez could not hide his opinion on the possible fight between super middleweight champion Canelo ‘Saul’ Alvarez and American world champion Terence Crawford. During an interview with TNT Sports, Benavidez spoke about the possibilities that each of the fighters has and assured that each of them is the best in their division, so he is aware that it will be one of the most exciting duels in recent years.
He said, “To be honest with you, Crawford is one of the best technical fighters I have ever seen. When he went to 154, I’m not saying he had problems, but he looked like he didn’t have the power he had at 147, and he’d still have to come up two or three weight classes.” However, according to him, it will be Canelo who will most likely win the fight due to the natural advantages that Canelo would have at 168 lbs. Benavidez further added, “Crawford is a one-of-a-kind fighter, but weight classes must be respected. I’d give Canelo the edge.”

However, Joe Rogan hopes that Terence Crawford will be able to size up enough to go toe-to-toe against Alvarez. On the same episode of the podcast, the JRE host said, “Yes, he’s gonna fight Canelo. Oh man, I just hope he’s big enough. I hope he’s big enough to keep that dude off him because Canelo hits so hard, man.” But what do you think? Will the current WBA World Boxing Association world champion be able to maintain his 41-0 record against Canelo ‘Saul’ Alvarez? Let us know in the comments.
