The world of boxing has witnessed a seismic shift in recent years, thanks to the rise of celebrity boxing matches. Youtuber-turned-fighters like Jake Paul, Logan Paul, and KSI have transformed the sport, capturing the attention of millions and changing the landscape of boxing as we know it. In KSI‘s latest foray into the ring, he faced off against Joe Fournier at the MF & DAZN: X Series 007 event in London.
The bout promised fireworks, and it certainly delivered. After dominating the first round of the fight, KSI won the bout in the second round via KO. But the manner in which the fight ended raised many questions. KSI launched a right hook onto his opponent that did not land as he would have expected. Rather than the knuckles, KSI landed his elbow on Fournier, knocking him down.
As elbow strikes are not allowed in boxing, many expected the fight to end via DQ or no contest. However, KSI shockingly got the win. The fighting community erupted with discussion and debate, with many questioning the validity of the win.

One voice that spoke out was UFC legend Michael Bisping, who shared his thoughts in a recent YouTube video. Bisping started by acknowledging his respect and admiration for KSI‘s progress, having trained with him in the past.
“I like KSI. I had the pleasure of doing a couple of training sessions with him back in the day. We did a training session and to see where he has gone from then to now really is incredible. He’s clearly improved. He’s fast, he’s aggressive, he’s wildly successful.”

“But we’ve got to be honest here that fight should be either a disqualification or a no-contest. It just really should, that is the reality of the situation. The professional boxing Association needs to look at that. They were acting as the Commissioners for the fight they need to look at that and then do the right thing.”
