It is said of Nate Diaz that he has never actually lost a fight, just run out of rounds. Jake Paul and UFC legend Nate Diaz will face each other in a ten-round boxing match on August 5 in Dallas. Of his six fights so far, Paul has fought two retired and inactive MMA champions in Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, dispatching both with devastating KOs. He also proved his mettle against the aging former UFC champion Anderson Silva. This time, however, he will get to fight an active MMA fighter with an incredible gas tank who has taken all types of punishment in the Octagon but has only been knocked out once.

This is why it is more difficult to pick a winner for their fight. Many point out that Diaz has no experience in professional boxing and fighting for 8-10 rounds, something Paul has been training hard for over five years. However, Nate’s endurance and Terminator-like ability to absorb damage and still keep moving forward will prove useful here. And, even a veteran boxer like the Olympic gold medallist and winner of 11 professional boxing titles, Oscar De La Hoya thinks it is difficult to pick a clear winner.

Oscar De La Hoya was asked his prediction for Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz during a recent interview. The Golden Boy Promotions owner told ‘InsideFighting’ that it was not easy to predict who would win. He also outlined what makes each fighter dangerous. He commended ‘The Problem Child’s power, calling him ” a monster puncher”. De La Hoya praised Diaz’s will and heart as someone “who just knows how to pull off wins”. ‘Golden Boy’ was optimistic the fight would be an interesting affair.

When pressed to make a pick, he surprised the interviewer by picking Diaz, owing to his experience and ability to seemingly pull wins out of a hat. “I gotta go with Nate because I think he has more experience when it comes to fighting standing up fighting. Like I said, look Nate he’s not a big power puncher, but he knows how to take care of the job he knows how to take care of business. For some strange reason, he wins,” said De La Hoya.
