The UFC recently released another episode of ‘Lookin’ For a Fight’. Fans saw Dana White attend Irish prodigy Callum Walsh‘s boxing match. He shared his opinion regarding the 21-year-old. Moreover, the UFC president even talked about his coach, Freddie Roach, and why he took the decision to take Walsh under his wing.

Dana White has a keen eye for recognizing talented fighters. Similarly, he has been endorsing Callum Walsh for some time now. The Cork native has racked up a 7-fight winning streak and has remained undefeated since he started his professional career. Moreover, Dana White mentioned why his coach, Freddie Roach, is keen on continuing to stay as a trainer. Let us take a look at what the 53-year-old promoter said.

Dana White makes a confession about Freddie Roach

Freddie Roach is a boxing Hall of Fame legend who’s regarded as one of the best boxing coaches in the history of the sport. Dana White mentioned that, at 63 years old, Roach does not like spending too much time training boxers if he isn’t sure about the talent that the athlete possesses. The UFC president said, “Callum Walsh is trained by Freddie Roach, one of the greatest boxing trainers in history.”

He further added, “Freddie’s at a point in his career, he isn’t working with anybody that he does not think has serious potential.” Dana White also mentioned that he likes the talent he sees in Callum Walsh. The 21-year-old also packs a lot of power in his punches. “Callum is a very talented guy. He’s got unbelievable knockout power,” said White. He also mentioned the impressive way in which Walsh’s coach and team are handling his career.

The UFC president loves the fact that Walsh fights real boxers

Dana White stated that he loved the trajectory of Callum Walsh’s career. He is 7-o and going head-to-head against opponents who are significantly more experienced than him in boxing. White Further stated, “What I love about the way they’re moving this kid is fighting real guys with real records.”

Furthermore, Dana White also spoke about the opponent he was going up against during the episode, Wesley Tucker. He already had 42 fights under his belt before the fight and looked seriously focused on overcoming the 21-year-old. “You could tell his opponent Wesley Tucker did not just show up there for a paycheck. He didn’t want to lose to some 22-year-old Irish kid,” said the 53-year-old promoter.
