In the combat sports world, the biggest clash currently unfolding is the ongoing talks between Tyson Fury and Jon Jones. However, the UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping is not buying into the hype surrounding this matchup. It all began with Joe Rogan, when the outspoken UFC commentator boldly declared that Fury would be no match for ‘Jonny Bones’. This statement set off a chain of comments from parties from both realms.
As the exchange of remarks escalated, the situation took a dramatic turn. The headlines caught the attention of UFC president Dana White, who saw an opportunity to capitalize on the buzz. White proposed the idea of bringing together the current WBC heavyweight champion and the new UFC heavyweight champion inside the Octagon. The news sparked a frenzy among fans and media alike, but to everyone’s surprise, the boxer refused to step into the cage.
Despite the 34-year-old boxer boldly claiming to be the ‘baddest man on the planet’ and expressing his interest in taking Jones out, Michael Bisping thinks ‘The Gypsy King’ has no intention of actually stepping into the ring with anyone.

Michael Bisping believes Tyson Fury is a tactical genius
‘The Count’ recently took to his YouTube channel to address the ongoing Tyson Fury–Jon Jones matter. However, the former UFC middleweight champion doesn’t believe that ‘The Gypsy King’ truly wants any part of it.
Bisping expressed his thoughts, saying, “Tyson’s being smart. He doesn’t wanna fight Jon Jones. He doesn’t wanna fight Francis Ngannou. Remember, he came out with an offer, said, ‘I will box Francis Ngannou in four-ounce gloves in an octagon with Mike Tyson as referee’. That never transpired. Because he’s a smart man.”
Back in 2022, Fury called out Ngannou before his fight against Cyril Gane. He offered a fight with boxing rules, but UFC gloves, and this made it to the headlines.

Furthermore, Bisping believes that Fury’s recent statements are more of a PR stunt than a genuine desire to fight. The 44-year-old continued, “He’s an incredible boxer. He should be fighting Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua. All this talk of Jon Jones is getting a lot of headlines. He’s probably doing a wonderful bit of PR for both men. But he’s very, very smart to turn this fight down from Dana White. The reality is he could make that fight happen.”
