Anderson Silva absolutely demolished former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz, as the duo collided inside the boxing ring. Silva schooled Ortiz from the opening bell and eventually finished the fight inside the first round, leaving his opponent face down on the canvas.

After the fight, Ortiz explained what actually happened. Many believe that age has caught up with the former UFC champion and he shouldn’t be competing in combat sports anymore for his own good. However, ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ dismissed those suggestions, saying that it was an excellent shot from Silva that caught him.

I’ve never been clipped like that. Even Liddell didn’t clip me that bad. That was a good punch. He caught me with a clean punch,” said Ortiz about the fight.

Ortiz referred to his knockout losses against ‘The Iceman’, Chuck Liddell, from the early 2000s. The duo had an intriguing rivalry which many believed was the reason behind the start of the UFC’s popularity.

However, Ortiz definitely looked out of sorts against Silva. ‘The Spider’ has made an incredible transformation to the sport of boxing after retiring from the sport of MMA not so long ago.

What’s next for Anderson Silva after his win against Tito Ortiz?

Silva is looking to return to the ring sooner rather than later. He has already expressed his interest in fighting either of the Paul brothers, Jake or Logan. A fight against the YouTube stars is guaranteed to generate huge revenue in terms of pay-day for Silva. And after such outstanding performances back-to-back, he has earned his rights to call for his shots.

Needless to say, options are plenty for ‘The Spider‘. Many have even suggested he fights Oscar De La Hoya next. ‘ The Golden Boy’ was originally in the main event of the card against Vitor Belfort, but Evander Holyfield replaced him. So, who eventually Silva fights, remains to be seen.
